S: Must Watch
Episodes I believe you must watch or are missing out on.
1. Mobile Suit Gundam: GQuuuuuuX
Oh man my favorite opening episode so far! I loved Witch from Mercury by Sunrise so I was excited to see them return with Khara for another Gundam. to begin, I absolutely love the art style. It’s fantastic, colorful and when paired with the character designs its just a joy to watch. But of course, we’re here for the mobile suits and they are just as great. The animation was stellar for the first episode, both Gundams shown going at it and being a thrill. We also have some set up for what may be the focus of this anime with the introduction of refugees and how they are mistreated. I already like Yuzuriha as her design is great, but the line of are you free in space really made her my favorite in a single episode. Man, if you’re watching anything this season, I’m going to go ahead and say it should probably be this.
A: Very Good
Good episodes, anime I would recommend to someone looking for something to watch.
2. Kowloon Generic Romance. Ep. 1
Oh yea, this one hit. Let’s get it out of the way, Kujirai is gorgeous. Another thing I’d like to say is that I love the art style and animation of the episode, it has a classic almost Cowboy Bebop like style and animation that I don’t see often nowadays but that I love. It’s a timeless style just as good as what we have in many modern anime. The story for this already has me hooked, the mystery behind Kujirai and Kudou, as well as the strange world they live in. It’s tagged as Sci-fi(my favorite), and romance so I hope the future episodes will pull my heart strings. I need to know the mystery of the woman in the photo and how she relates to Kujirai, will this is end in heartbreak or with me sobbing tears of joy like that certain episode in Vinland Saga. Also, woo man that kiss. Great episode, 9 out 10 snatched waists.
3. Lazarus. Ep.1
Wow, a very good episode, thrilling to watch from start to end. Axel is either superhuman or drugged beyond belief because he did some things far beyond human capability. The premise is set up strong as well, this will be the team set on finding the doctor and I already like all of them as the first episode does well of introducing all of them. Very much looking forward to this anime and hoping for some strong writing.
4. Wind Breaker S2. Ep.2
They’re keeping up the steam with episode 2, awesome animation all throughout. Sakura had some great moments here as well, though he has a long way to go, being willing to understand and see his own mistakes makes him a great character that I can support. The fights were great, and Bofurin has come out victorious harder fights are sure to come. I look forward to it, especially seeing some of the other captains take center stage and show what they’re made of.
5. Apothecary Diaries. Ep. 37
Not the usual bath episode, but we’ll take it. If this is historically accurate, at least for making connections, then I find out interesting though also saddening how many servants are left without many options after leaving the palace. I wonder if we will get a Lishu focus soon. Her backstory is interesting and the unfortunate reality of her helpers being less than ideal is also something that could have a great arc. Saying this, I believe the focus will turn to Loulan. She’s very mysterious and I believe it is time the author takes it that direction as she hasn’t done much so far.
6. Witch Watch
A very cute opening, Bibury Animation went all out with the colors in this episode. I think the premise is interesting, even more so with the reveal from the orcale towards the end. What stands out is the comedy and the relatiosnhip between Nico and Mio however, those just glow with chemsitry which is great. add more ahout her magic and wah toyu look forward to
7. My Happy Marriage. Ep. 2
While I have my issues wit this season, I believe there is plenty to enjoy as well. The standout of course is Miyo who, while I believe can be far to nice, is such a sweetheart that I care for. Naoshi made for a threatening villain but many of the pieces around him left me wanting more. Showing the capture of the emperor would have been nice for example, and I can’t for the life of me understand Arata’s actions as his double agent plan was luck in my opinion. Still, despite the issues I have with it, I do enjoy the heart throbs this season brought. Kiyoka and Miyo make a great couple and are an example of healthy relationship that continues to grow and we have the privelage to watch. Very noice, 7.5 sweet Miyo’s out of 10 lightning strikes from Kiyoka. Also is Kiyoka getting a new job or what? Find out next time!
B: Good/Solid
8. Aharen-San
A nice return for a great comedy from not too long ago. We live in era where season 2 is not some pipe dream for many anime deserving of it and Aharan-san is just one of many. Tamanaha is a nice introduction as well, a quick look into Aharen’s past and one that I’m glad that is now reconciliated. Furthermore, she is voice by one of my favorite voice actresses so I look forward to more of her and the the main couple’s antics this season.
9. The Beginning After the End
Hm, I actually liked this episode. Ignoring the poor animation, Arthur is really growing on me as a character with his inner monologue about family and the emotions that revolve around family. It will be interesting to see how he continues to grow as a character that differs from his old life and where his story goes on from here. Also, that was a very cool ending. My bad TBATE, perhaps I was too harsh on you… though the community is being far harsher.
C: It’s ok/Fine
These are shows I happen to pick up but struggle to finish. Still watchable, but not without a good break in between episodes.
Yandere Dark Elf
Oh yes brothers and sisters, together we goon. This is also a nice ten minute anime which is always a nice pocket pick. First critique, why the censor! I believe an uncensored version airs alongside but we’ll have to wait and see for now. Otherwise, man Mariabelle is something else. Character design might be the limelight of this one but we’ll have to see if they decide to truly be an Ecchi. Hmmm, 6 uncersored shots out of 9 white censors.
Please Put Them On, Takamine-san
Gather round gooners, we’re back for episode 2. I will say, I was quite entertained despite the near impossible situation in this episode, though this is anime so whatever. Takamine is a stickler for perfection, but I wonder if there will ever be a chance in which she isn’t able to redo, that’s where the real spice will come. For now, I guess the first day of work will have to do. 7 panties out of 11 redos.
D: Do Not Recommend
Shows I do not recommend you not watch for various issues.
F: Bad
Anime with glaring issues that make them not only difficult to watch, but the watcher angry at times.
