Anime Spring 2024 Weekly Ranking March 28th April 3rd
These rankings are as of the episodes premiering March 28th to April 3rd
S: Must Watch
Episodes I believe you must watch or are missing out on.
1. The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You Season 2. Ep. 24. FINAL
I remember when people complained about the missing monologue I always thought to myself, hmm, they’ll probably add it to include the new girls right? And my god they did it. It’ll be in 1x speed in the bluray for anyone who would like that, It’ll probably be as long as an episode so that’ll be fun. Very glad Karane is back to her old self, wouldn’t have it any other way. The love to Dragon ball is always welcome here, and an anime like this always does it right. Now, my favorite part was the confessions of love from everyone, some simply hit at my heart such as Shizuka calling Rentaro her treasure, I mean come on man. Overall, this is just as good if not better than season 1. I doubted the Bibury Animation Studio at first, but they have knocked it out of the park so far when a fantastic adaptation that is a great example of an anime where the team clearly enjoys what they are making. I wish them nothing but success, and please, please, please, please, please, give me a season 3. I don’t really have much else to say, one of my favorites of the season and perhaps the greatest represatiotjn of a harem with all the fun arcs and great characters. Watch this anime, you’ll have trouble controlling your smile as you cry. 10/10 the goat has shown us how it is done again, bravo Rentaro.
A: Very Good
Good episodes, anime I would recommend to someone looking for something to watch.
2.
Solo Leveling. Ep. 13. FINAL
Hey they brought back the old opening! Man, what a great and fun season. Enough of the overrated and terrible story arguments, we need awesome anime like this. Anime where I can just sit back and enjoy myself. Seriously, I had an awesome laugh as JinWoo walked down the lanes of soldiers that was just too cool darn it. Beru is part of the team now, but my favorite part of the episode was JinWoo allowing Min-Sung to rest in peace despite the possibility of having such a strong asset. If you want to just have fun, watch this, I cannot recommend it enough. Mmmmm, 9/10 aura farming prevails. Season 3 please.
Wind Breaker Season 2. Ep 1
Crazy nice return for Windbreaker. The animation is even better than I remember and we’re right back into the fights which is just what I need from this anime. And, that’s pretty much all that happened this episode, a lot of fighting and some permanent brain damage. Although, we do have some nice scene with Nirei who may have an arc for himself and confidence. I look forward to that and seeing more of other characters like Ren who had a great scene with Sakura this episode. 8.5 broken noses out of 11 concussed heads.
4. My Happy Marriage. Ep. 12
A really nice episode with some twists and turns that had my interested for much of the episode. Arata turning on Naoshi was unexpected as I believed Naoshi would die in the exchange with Kiyoka but his abilities are just too strong to be taken on alone. Naoshi’s end is bittersweet, I believe Sumi was far too forgiving though she is set on the idea that much of Noashi’s actions are because of her. While it may be true, it comes off as too nice an ending for his crimes. I am now left wandering where the story goes however. Miyo has awakened her abilities, so I can see it turning to more being interested in her abilities. Overall, not bad, but Naoshi was let off too easy.
3. Apothecary Diaries. Ep. 36
Oh man, that they were going to hit us with the dreaded refuse to talk things over trope, but this aime has always had better writing than that for the most part. Although we’ve known, Jinshi has been confirmed to be the brother of the emperor, and his name sounds like a bankai so I really like it. The hot scene between Mao Mao and Jinshi was also well done, though I figured it wouldn’t go much father than that. Now, I do wonder who is after his life and just how much they know. Eventually Mao Mao will have to help there, I just hope they stop with the pushing the reveal to her away soon.
B: Good/Solid
The Beginning After the End
Two things: this is only a cautionary placement, and I really like the picture here. to begin, there is clear inspiration from another popular work and the first episode follows that inspiration rather close. I had my jokes loaded just until the final scenes. While there are similarities, if this anime takes in the direction we see in the end, where Arthur is learning to experience feelings he was deprived of in his previous life then I think this could be good. Whereas the the inspiration focuses on becoming a better person, I think this will focus on finding their true person after experiencing the warmth of others. I only hope the writing will be good. So, for now, a cautionary B but my first series of the new season so I hope for the best.
C: It’s ok/Fine
These are shows I happen to pick up but struggle to finish. Still watchable, but not without a good break in between episodes.
Please Put Them On, Takamine-san
I goon, because I can. I can goon, therefore I must. Oh yea, the seasonal Ecchi is here, though I was not expecting the Kushida special in the first episode. Takamine’s ability is quite interesting, only a true gooner could come up with it so I commend the author. But, her clothing bill on the month must be crazy. As for Closet-kun, there are worse fates. I though wonder if this will have some romance given that ED, or maybe not given the stipulation for Takamine’s ability. Hmmm, 7 missing bras out of 12 missing socks.
D: Do Not Recommend
Shows I do not recommend you not watch for various issues.
The Daily Life of a Middle-Aged Online Shopper in Another World. Ep. 13. FINAL
I don’t know, they could have tried to fit in more into the last episode. Just sarcasm, so much happened that my head was spinning as I couldn’t figure out what was going on and how fast things were moving. Kenichi prevails and is now a noble, continuing with the trend of man wishing for a slow only to live the farthest thing from it. They also gave a sneak peak at the other mage, but is this ever getting another season? I don’t thing so. eh, 5/10 let the man hit!
F: Bad
Anime with glaring issues that make them not only difficult to watch, but the watcher angry at times.
