Anime Winter 2024 Weekly Ranking March 21st to March 27th

These rankings are as of the episodes premiering March 21st to March 27th

The season is ending as we transition into new shows. Overall, we hade some very strong anime this season that made for a great season and one that has some very memorable moments. I hope we’ll see more seasons like this, and here’s to the next!

S: Must Watch

Episodes I believe you must watch or are missing out on.

1. The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You Season 2. Ep. 23

We need Tsundere Karane! Simply put, Karane is a Tsundere done right, ever a representation of the archtype, but someone who displays clear love and care for the family. As such, I’m happy the family also wishes for her to just be herself. I only hope that will be with the entire family as we may be one down, but at least Hahari has no regrets in life. Hakari may also need help as she isn’t as strong as she believes, with Rentaro and Karane for that matter. Next episode is season finally. I’d like to thank Biburry animation studies for a wonderful season, it really has been a joy and I can’t wait for the finale.

2. Re:Zero ep 16. FINAL

Oh man, I did not expect that ending. I wonder how… what’s his name again? Whoever he may be, I wonder how he still moves as I believe everyone else who has been erased loses all function. Overall, I liked this season quite a bit. The fights were good and I enjoyed most if not all characters and their respective arcs. What I’m thinking about now is the sins that escaped and if they accomplished their overall goal as they left without much of a fight. As for wrath, me personally, I like’em just a little crazy. Do I believe wrath will manage to escape, absolutely, but keeping her alive is the right choice given the information she could bring. Again, I enjoyed this season but I believe it has set up a lot more than we got in this time around. Usually I’m not a fan of such a feeling, but the season was done so well that I’m not only satisfied, but I hope the next season comes soon… we’ve got some previews but no release date as of now. Oh well, 8.5/10, there’s more pain coming isn’t there…

A: Very Good

Good episodes, anime I would recommend to someone looking for something to watch.

3. Ishura. Ep. 12. FINAL

I need season 3 now! You can’t just set up an awesome group of characters, bring back awesome characters from the first season, and expect me to sit here patiently. I need it. But, overall, I really liked this season. The characters introduced were great and interesting, with most just being straight broken and I wonder how in the world they are going to kill each other. While I did enjoy this season, I would have liked to know more about some characters, but the anime moves too fast to allow for that. I don’t mind it too much, but it would be nice to spend more time with some of the characters like Tu for example. Yes, I am a gooner. And so, 8/10 they brought back the gore for this episode. Also, Shiki. Not who I expected, but it is undeniable that she is the demon king. Striking straight fear into everyone by simply existing seems demon king like. If so, who in the world killed her? Being named enemy of all is also just too badass for such sweet looking girl, just don’t look in her eyes or get anywhere near her. See you next season, hopefully!

4.

Solo Leveling. Ep. 12

Oh yea, that fight was awesome. I really thought it was over for the S ranks even as the shadow nights arrived as JinWoo is too busy aura farming on a random roof. In all seriousness, I’m actually surprised by how strong JinWoo is now. The black ant was levels above everyone else, even the strongest Japan. But, for JinWoo, it was never much of a challenge, I think JinWoo was even limit testing at certain points. The fight is now done however, and I hope they find a way to save Cha Hae, losing a beauty would be the worst possible outcome.

5. Apothecary Diaries. Ep. 35

They’ve got guns! So, do others know of Jinshi and his true origin or is that high a figure that he can be hunted for another reason. Interesting to think about though we won’t find out more until MaoMao allows him to reveal his secret. I’m not a fan of the stalling for that information but I won’t complain about it too much. Also does that count as a kiss? The world has to know!

B: Good/Solid

C: It’s ok/Fine

These are shows I happen to pick up but struggle to finish. Still watchable, but not without a good break in between episodes.

The Daily Life of a Middle-Aged Online Shopper in Another World. Ep. 12

That boy Kenichi a dog, this pretty much confirms he’s messing around with the other two as well. At least in my book. Also got a good laugh out of me from the holy water joke, true gooners knows. The young princess is quite difficult to handle, Anemone might just blast her in the next episode. And that leads into next episode being last. A lot must happen, or a lot will be left hanging, judgment must be passed then. As of now, the anime is just fine. I’ll slot it right in with the seasonal slop we all need.

D: Do Not Recommend

Shows I do not recommend you not watch for various issues.

F: Bad

Anime with glaring issues that make them not only difficult to watch, but the watcher angry at times.
