Anime Summer 2024 Weekly Ranking December 6th to December 12th

These rankings are as of the episodes premiering December 6th to December 12th

S: Must Watch

Episodes I believe you must watch or are missing out on.

1. DAN DA DAN. Ep. 11

Another weird episode but great all around, really enjoy how they used the anatomy models to convey Takakura’s emotions here as it also helps him realize just how much he has fallen for Ayase. As for their relationship, I hope to see it grow though I have seen a picture floating around that I personally would never forgive, but that is neither here nor there. What matters most, is are we getting more seasons? Please! I need more grandma Ayase!!!

2. Bleach. Ep. 9

Noooooooooo! No not her! It should have been me! Man, I did not expect that whatsoever, and Mayuri’s reaction is just what I expected from him. Also the way he wins is just as disgusting as I expect from him as well. This does seem to be it for him, we have more fights to look forward to though I hope Kenpachi comes back with some anger.

A: Very Good

Good episodes, anime I would recommend to someone looking for something to watch.

3. Demon Lord 2099. Ep. 10

Ah yes, the land of Akihabara. Anime girls and maids as far as the heart can see and more than anyone could ever enjoy alone, I only hope there isn’t a large mafia organization controlling it like in Akiba maid wars. Veltol had some fun this episode, though hitting someone with his pure magic is something he may need to stray from as that simple attack may be enough to kill most in this era. In conclusion, Kaguya-sama maid. Oh yes, I like. Even better yet, Machina school outfit, +10000.

5. Blue Box. Ep. 12

Ah young love. I guess this confirms that Chinatsu does see Taiki as a potential love interest but is preventing herself from allowing anything to develop for various reasons. Even so, she isn’t able to prevent herself from developing feelings or wondering of what could be. That is young love, a wonderful feeling, often confusing, often difficult. This episode made me like Chinatsu more, her struggle with all she must do while wondering about her own feelings must be difficult. Do I like Hina more? Yes. Do I expect the childhood friend to lose? Absolutely. But, I hope it will be done in a good way, which I expect since the writing so far has been good.

7.

Negative Positive Angler. Ep. 11

A decent lead up into the final episode, very glad that Tsunehiro went to the hospital. I’m assuming the news is ok since he doesn’t seem depressed, though he could also just have accepted his fate long ago as well. It’s funny how the conflict was misinterpreted within the hour, but it often happens like that in real life as well. Final episode next week, hope it will be a nice resolution.

4. Ranma 1/2. Ep. 10

New girl! And man do I like her design and weapons. I must say, the characters of this anime are some of the most dedicated I’ve ever seen, we got wo chasing Ranma around the planet just get revenge, that is dedication I hope to have in my life. With a new kiss at the end, I wonder what this will mean and how Akane is thinking of torturing Ranma for it. Poor guy, as good as a martial artist he is it’s difficult to defend his lips.

6. Dragon Ball DAIMA. Ep. 9

Finally seeing Vegeta and Piccolo in action. Also, spaceships are the honda civics of the demon world with how easily they are stolen. Never expected to hear Saibaman as well, majin Kuu looks cool, hearing him talk was a surprise. I wanted to hear him go crazy like kid buu but there’s a reason they wanted the new majin to be nothing like him. Oh man, I hope the fight against will deliver.

8. Rurouni Kenshin. Ep. 11

Master?! Did not expect that to be who we meet, but it seems he has reservations about teaching anymore to Himura given his actions and his hand in creating the threat they face today. Of course, I looked most forward to the reunion between Himura and Kaoru. She’s such a sweetheart and I wonder what hand she will play in this arc. We’ll have to wait until next week to find out however, see you then.

B: Good/Solid

9. If My Wife Became an Elementary School Student. Ep. 11

Next week will be tough, but I look forward to it. Really glad Mai accepted Keisuke’s decision despite the surprise and how painful it must be to accept. Losing someone is never easy and the life the family was living afterward isn’t surprising as grief is just that powerful. But this anime represents that hope there is after losing someone, but also the strength needed to do so. It’s done so well, I hope their farewells are done well as well.

11. 2.5 Dimensional Seduction. Ep. 23

One more episode. I’ve enjoyed this anime, cute girls are always a good time. As for this episode, I have to say once again Mikari best girl. All the other girls are nice, but unless Mayuri decides to step in none of them are better than Mikari. I enjoy her character, her honest effort and care for the one she loves is always nice to see and I despise how often a character like this loses in favor of a character who is unsure of what they feel or just plain denies it. I wonder if she will tell Okumura as well, and I know he will disappoint me in his answer, though I understand why he doesn’t do 3D, he could at least give best girl a chance. Oh well, an otaku can dream.

10. Yakuza Fiancé: Raise wa Tanin ga Ii. Ep. 10

Yoshino and Miyama are a frightneing duo, though I still don’t like their relationship even if they are officially dating now. Also, I completely forget she’s below the drinking age, she didn’t act like it was her first time at least. Anyway, Yoshino and Miyama showed how calculating they can be. Miyama even manages to protect an old fling, all while being followed by Yoshino and the legendary k truck. That’s the best part of the episode, k trucks trucks are a thing of wonder.

12. Blue Lock. Ep. 10

Someone put that man back in a straight jacket. I knew the moment [name] stepped on the field he would be a problem, and he doesn’t dissapoint. Blue Lock must find a near gear and the substitutions are just it. Do feel bad for those gone now but they can use this for motivation. [reo] does steal the episode, that last scene was great.

C: It’s ok/Fine

These are shows I happen to pick up but struggle to finish. Still watchable, but not without a good break in between episodes.

D: Do Not Recommend

Shows I do not recommend you not watch for various issues.

13. Loner Life in Another World. Ep. 12 FINAL

That last line makes no sense, from understanding how everyone has struggles to deciding to continue facing his alone. Man, this one is a stinker, still better than slime season 3 but that’s a low bar to beat. I least we got Angelica who seems sweet, but we’ll never see more of her because this is not getting a season 2. Pretty big fumble, I think isekai is such an easy thing to write and make interesting, but this one just seems like the author had a bunch of ideas but could never focus on one while also failing to make the jumbled mess interesting. 4/10, the last fight was fine.

F: Bad

Anime with glaring issues that make them not only difficult to watch, but the watcher angry at times.
