Anime Summer 2024 Weekly Ranking November 29th to December 5th

These rankings are as of the episodes premiering November 29th to December 5th

S: Must Watch

Episodes I believe you must watch or are missing out on.

1. DAN DA DAN. Ep. 10

Can this show can any wierder? Yes, yes it can. And I love it for it. Honestly, how do they come up with any of these ideas? However they do, this episode was a nice cool down to the heavy action and also a nice moment for Aira. But man, the best scene, or single panel, was that one scene. I’m not saying it, you know which one I’m talking about.

2. Bleach. Ep. 8

What an awesome bankai. Also, Chad never stood a chance, still he was lucky to face Shunsui who is pretty lax about things, but as we can see when it is time to be serious he is up there with the most frightening of the bunch. His bankai had everyone stunned, but it was the pretty lady that stunned me! Man, I want a bankai like that. Also a cool note, the older and perhaps more mastered bankai tend to change the entire area instead of just being some cool upgrade or transformation. I wonder what Ichigo’s would look like, just a bunch of tenshos? Who knows, but great episode overall.

A: Very Good

Good episodes, anime I would recommend to someone looking for something to watch.

3. Demon Lord 2099. Ep. 8

Man, Machina is such a sweetheart. The fact that she still gets nervous during introductions despite being such a powerful being is great. Veltol’s got it great with her; him pulling out the little sofa for her to sit while they talk is such a small detail but it’s an act of care and matters a lot. The school arc for this anime has set forth, Hero Gram will also be appearing with his new partner as well which has me excited. I know some are worried it will be rushed but I believe this arc will be shorter as it clearly setting up for finding more of Veltol’s team. Still, I hope the arc will well done. Well, so long as they show me Tratte I’ll be happy.

5. Blue Box. Ep. 11

Please just date Hina!!!!!!! Look, I like Chinatsu, she’s a hard working sweetheart, but it’s also unfair to anyone to keep trying for someone who doesn’t or simply can’t reciprocate. Chinatsu is focusing on basketball, and that’s great. But that also means Taiki is being inconsiderate by continuing to chase after her despite her being clear about her relationship with him. I get, I’ve had crushes too, but woman who are clear about their intentions and put in the effort are diamonds! Taiki! Please!!! I’m begging you!

7. Dragon Ball DAIMA. Ep. 8

Man, the animation is just so good. Imagine we got some old fights reanimated like this, oh boy it would be awesome. Now, we do have some retcons here, but I’m hearing none of the complaints. The ret cons affect nothing and if it does bring about a new cool character I’m all for it. Considering how good the animation is, I really look forward to what is to come.

4. Ranma 1/2. Ep. 9

Time to confess Ranma! Or, at least wonder what it is you’re feeling. This anime continues to surprise with just how out of this world some of the ideas are, the couple crusher is such a creative attack that ruins couples in such a understandable way, truly great. Of course, P-chan steps in so we’re have a new duo at the front. I wonder how’ll they succeed, but these two together are a frightening duo.

6.

Negative Positive Angler. Ep. 10

A very powerful episode, one I have been asking for for some time now and one that doesn’t disappoint, in fact it exceeds my expectations. By introducing Takaaki’s secret we bring a great piece of similairty between him and Tsunehiro. both running from issues, Tsunehiro revealing his fear of today not happening being the reason he doesn’t want to go the hospital is understandable but it also makes Takaaki question himself when being called out for doing the same. Fantastic writing, it only makes these two a better pair as they will need to rely on each other to progress in their lives. The best episode yet and one of my favorite of the season, I hope the rest as good as well.

B: Good/Solid

8. If My Wife Became an Elementary School Student. Ep. 10

Spent so much time worrying about Keisuke that I completely ignored the fact that the one we need to worry about is Mai. Keisuke understands that he must move on, as much as he wishes not to and however painful it will be. I commend him for doing so, but we see in this episode that Mai is far from moving on. The last two episodes are going to pull at my heart, and I really hope we get one final interaction between Keisuke and Takae, their love for each other is wonderful. As for Moriya, I hope she understands how Mai will react, and I hope she and Keisuke will be happy, they both deserve it.

10. 2.5 Dimensional Seduction. Ep. 22

A sweet episode, but! I’m sorry, I’m not getting on this ship and on one can make me! Mikari or nothing. For too long we’ve suffered the curse of the childhood friend, suffered the agony of the best girl losing, and now! Well we know where the author is going. And it’s fine, the two are very compatible and just as romantically immature as one another. As Ririsa said, Okumura has been such great support to her and he is deserving of someone as sweet as her as well. This episode focused on that development and, as much as my heart aches, I hope we see further developments within the last two episodes. Also, I hope a certain duo get back together, why not?

12. Yakuza Fiancé: Raise wa Tanin ga Ii. Ep. 9

Yoshino is resourceful if nothing else, driving a bike into someone’s skull is one way to do it. Very interested in the new face we had today, but I’m not sure much will come from here given the episodes left. If nothing else, it seems like Yoshino is getting some sweet revenge next episode.

9. Rurouni Kenshin. Ep. 10

A nice backstory to show the beginnings of Kenshin’s new journey. Much of Kenshin’s journey is about walking the fine line between his past self and the person he wishes to be now. This episode shows the first time he went against his past self and what made him do so which is always for others. I only hope this Kenshin will find the strength to beat his new opponents who are stronger than ever.

11. Blue Lock. Ep. 9

Seems Rin is on a complete revenge tour here, their past is interesting and the change in goal is understandable given the talent out there. Now, I’m looking forward to the rest of the match most, Shindou coming in will be a legitimate problem as he is a monster of a striker that rival even Rin. The rest of the match is sure to pick up, now we need everyone to step it up.

13. ShangriLa Frontier Ep. 8

Surprise entry! I'm enjoying the new game, I mean who doesn’t enjoy some cool robot mecha action. If this was a real game, I’d be all for it, though we have a long way before VR is that advanced. We also receive some info on a unique scenario, I wonder if Sunraku is going to be part of the fights for them all. It would make him a legend of sorts and it would fun to see all the bosses and how unfair they are. Also, samurai bunny. Also, Emul jumping side to side. Also new character with blue hair, you know what this means, they’re losing the romance war.

C: It’s ok/Fine

These are shows I happen to pick up but struggle to finish. Still watchable, but not without a good break in between episodes.

14. Loner Life in Another World. Ep. 11

Mmmm, so all is ok I guess. We’re still at minus points until the end of the episode. This anime has been a chore to watch, much of it uninteresting or unfun to watch. I hear the source material is better so if you want to check out this series it may be best to do with that.

D: Do Not Recommend

Shows I do not recommend you not watch for various issues.

F: Bad

Anime with glaring issues that make them not only difficult to watch, but the watcher angry at times.
