Anime Summer 2024 Weekly Ranking November 15th to 21st

These rankings are as of the episodes premiering November 15th to 21st

S: Must Watch

Episodes I believe you must watch or are missing out on.

1. DAN DA DAN. Ep. 8

Oh man, Okarun’s got a lot of explaining to do, but not as much as granny Ayase who has the best kept secret to youth in the world. It seems we’re fighting aliens again and they’ve brought some heavy Calvary this time around. It would have been bad for our gloomy MC but we have a surprise entry today. Very cool ending scene, looking forward to next episode.

3. Re:ZERO. Ep. 8

Another great episodes with some saddening reveals. I wonder if Subaru will end up taking all of the curse once this battle is over or if defeating lust will heal them both. whatever the case, we have our match ups now and I’m dreading a revival if it is to come. I must say, Emelia is very innocent. Her idea of love is so pure and nice, it would be wonderful if it was always like that. She’s also very brave saying her peace against a powerful sin, but Subaru has come to save the day. Very much looking forward to the fights.

1. Bleach. Ep. 5

Man the fights of the 1000 year blood war arc are just so good. [name] bankai was a treat and very powerful, but even he isn’t immune to the ‘you’re my fiend’ debuff. The battle was the highlight of the episode but the rest was great as well. The sniper shots one tapping everyone, and Grimmjow chasing a quincy. We got it all this episode, but we need our side to take a win.

A: Very Good

Good episodes, anime I would recommend to someone looking for something to watch.

4. Demon Lord 2099. Ep. 6

As she falls to her death Machina only thinks of Veltol’s health, that is true care and love. A girl like her is once in a lifetime and I need Veltol to put a ring on it. For now, saving her like a princess is reward enough. Gram’s fight was great, but man it didn’t seem like a challenge at all. I think it’s great to show that these guys were otherworldly in their prime and wonder if we will get to see some of that level in the future. Great episode, next time we might see Veltol’s trump card.

6. Blue Box. Ep. 9

That is one crazy cliff hanger. I do wonder what Chinstsu thinks of Taiki. It’s not strange to development emotions for someone so close, but she is focused on her sport and understands that Hina may like him as well. Of course, I’ve watched enough anime to know this will likely just end with them shy and pulling away. But, I’m open to being surprised.

5. Ranma 1/2. Ep. 7

What a fun battle, from Kodachi’s sneaky tactics to Ryoma somehow ending up in the middle of it. Once again, this anime conveys why I love some older anime so much. They are ridiculous amounts of fun to watch and that is what anime is all about. Sometimes, we need an episode to make us cry like DanDaDan, sometimes I just want to have fun. Great episode.

7. Dragon Ball DAIMA. Ep. 7

Goku saying he wasn’t involved is pretty funny. I’ll defend him as a father forever, dude gave his life for his kid multiple times and people still bash him. Some nice lore drops as well, but I look forward to watching Vegeta fight most.

B: Good/Solid

8. If My Wife Became an Elementary School Student. Ep. 8

Somehow this episode is heavier than the lost as it hints to the ending. I agree with the possession theory, Takae seeing her family happy and at peace must have given her fulfilment but returned once they began to regress in her absence. So there is the solution, Takae must find a way to help them move on and live happily even with her gone. I’m sure that as a mother she feels terrible to take Marika’s place and doesn’t want to do so. The answer is clear, and I believe Nijima is the kind of person that realizes not only the effect the possession has on Chika and Marika, but on Takae as well. As such, I expect him to finally accept her death, and that will make him a fantastic character. But, uh, I’ll need to prepare, I’m not good with sad scenes. Prepare with me everyone.

10. 2.5 Dimensional Seduction. Ep. 20

The power of friendship, and a smart solution, prevails! These four girls are already good friends and I’m glad they have been able to pick up steam on the second day. Still, I need that father daughter reunion, I need Mikari end game. I can dream.

12. Blue Lock. Ep. 7

Itoshi Sae is something else, understanding that he is just better makes it justified for him to look at everyone like dogs but it’s also funny to watch. Of course, Blue Lock 11 are doing all they can and with the talent they have they are sure to impress. Just look at that final, too cool man.

9. Yakuza Fiancé: Raise wa Tanin ga Ii. Ep. 6

Man, Yoshino is very likable. Truly an enigma amongst yakuza, but still not someone who should be taken lightly as we see at the end of the episode. However! I can’t see her and [name] as end game. FINISH

11.

Negative Positive Angler. Ep. 8

Heavy topic today, one that I relate to as well. Divorces are always most difficult on the kids, Yuu-kun is doing well despite wanting their family together. Also feel for Machida, he just wants to be a good dad but must accept the divorce and navigate the effects it will have on Yuu-kun. Very well done ending with a surprising amount of maturity shown. Overall, nice episode.

C: It’s ok/Fine

These are shows I happen to pick up but struggle to finish. Still watchable, but not without a good break in between episodes.

13. Loner Life in Another World. Ep. 8

-100000000 points for not us giving us a cute waifu. the antics used to defeat some enemies are nice, class pres 2 is ok I guess. Can’t really say without them having a voice and all. Also, they’re skeleton had heel feet, I just found that funny. Ummm, nothing much else. The rest of the class did well, but it might be time for them to leave. So far, even as my seasonal slosh, this is very underwhelming.

D: Do Not Recommend

Shows I do not recommend you not watch for various issues.

F: Bad

Anime with glaring issues that make them not only difficult to watch, but the watcher angry at times.
