Anime Summer 2024 Weekly Ranking November 8th to November 14th

These rankings are as of the episodes premiering November 9th to November 14th

S: Must Watch

Episodes I believe you must watch or are missing out on.

1. DAN DA DAN. Ep. 7

I’m keeping this brief, nothing short of incredible. The best episode of the season so far. Just watch it, this episode alone is worth watching the anime for it. Every now and then anime will toss an episode that completely changes the dynamic, plot, or feel of the show, permanently or for an episode. This is such an episode, going in with an idea of the previous episodes makes the plot of this episode that much more powerful, that much more enjoyable. Paired with the stellar music, voice acting, and incredible animation, and you get an incredible episode. Man, I love anime, this anime is fun but episodes like this that really make you feel are just the best. Favorite part of the episode, the ballet dance, my god what beautiful animation. I need to dry my tears, go watch it.

3. Re:ZERO. Ep. 7

There are few shows that do the big speech episodes as good as this anime. It was very well written, connecting with the audience by showing vulnerability and relatability before revealing that he has defeated sins was excellent. We have some new firepower now as well so the real fight is set to start. Looking forward to it, but my lord I feel like there is a death being loaded and it will be brutal.

1. Bleach. Ep. 7

Changing the entire landscape of gods realm is a great way of showing the dawn of a new power. I’m sure there will be advantages fighting here for the quincy, but we now have a new cavalry ready to back Ichigo and friends. Of course, with Yhwach being even more of a god now, I wonder how they will do it. I do look forward to seeing more captains fight, seeing their Bankai’s was something that everyone looked forward back in the day.

A: Very Good

Good episodes, anime I would recommend to someone looking for something to watch.

4. Demon Lord 2099. Ep. 5

Oh man, Machina’s duchess form is excellent, 10/10 would recommend. But, I must say, the cutie she has as a companion is just as great to see. As good as the fight was, Veltol stole the show once again with another excellent interactions with Gram. It only makes me admire Veltol more with each interaction we have from him. Of course, I’m sure he made his fair share of mistakes and has clearly changed since his revival, but it is that change that I admire and want to see flourish.

6. Blue Box. Ep. 8

I’m sorry what? What a twist, I really thought we were going to have a classic shonen moment but it wasn’t meant to be. And, I’m just as interested in how the story will progress here. Of course, Taiki is devastated, understandably so. How he will recover from it is interesting, but I’ve enjoyed the writing so far and believe it will be good.

5. Ranma 1/2. Ep. 6

Woman like Kodachi are my favorite, just go out and there and get who you love - oh yea, always love this trope. Also, who wouldn’t love a girl who breaks into someone’s house with a giant hammer? This episode is a great example of why I love older shows like this and Urusei Yatsura, there is a level of fun, insanity, and comedy that isn’t used in the current era but is still nice to watch. With the quality of the remake combined with the great source material, this is shaping up to be one of my favorites.

7. Dragon Ball DAIMA. Ep. 5

She’s a princess? Well, Panzy will come handy but I wonder if she will gain any physical prowess or if Goku and Vegeta will carry as usual. Also, nice to see remain loyal. If nothing else, our favorite fighting loving maniac is a family man.

B: Good/Solid

10. If My Wife Became an Elementary School Student. Ep. 7

I should have expected this twist but I didn’t, my heart wouldn’t let me. After a nice day together and a wonderful resolution between our young couple, it’s heart breaking to see the twist at the end. Of course, I have considered many times how this show would end, and I believe now that the best ending would be Takae eventually fading once her old family is safe and continue happily without her. They are deserving of it, but now that they understand what can happen, they must prepare for the possibility of once again losing a loved one. Heartbreaking, but I’m glad I gave this anime a chance. I mean, it’s better than slime s3.

9. 2.5 Dimensional Seduction. Ep. 19

Finally getting more Mirika, thank goodness. I know where the ending is headed, but let my delusional heart hope. A shaky start to summer comiket, but I’m sure the girls will turn it around. They all look great, but the heat will be a problem if they’re not careful. On a final note, I really hope Aira’s dad shows up.

12. Blue Lock. Ep. 8

I get the complaints about the animation, but come on man that ending is still so hype. As a lifetime soccer fan, my jaw dropped when Nagi jumped into the air. This anime is just cool and fun to watch, even with the subpar animation I still find it to be too much fun to ignore.

8. Yakuza Fiancé: Raise wa Tanin ga Ii. Ep. 6

Kirishima is ever the player it seems, though him and Yoshino are in a very complicated relationship as she doesn’t care much for him right now. Going back to Osaka is nice, I’m sure Yoshino has missed home. On a side note, it’s also my favorite place from when I visited Japan myself. Moving forward, Tsubaki and Shouma have better ideas of what kind of guy Kirishima is and this might just be experience on their part. Considering who they are, it seems Yoshino is innocent in comparison to everyone else but this also leads to her being ignorant about some things. I wonder what next episode will bring, I just hope Kirishima doesn’t kill someone.

11.

Negative Positive Angler. Ep. 7

Man, it’s rare to find such a good group of freinds. Getting this lucky at the end of his life is nice for Sasaki who had some nice self dialogues, if you’ve never done that then you’re a liar. Still, I look forward to the reveal of his illness, we’re over half the season now and many shows with drama are starting to kick into gear.

C: It’s ok/Fine

These are shows I happen to pick up but struggle to finish. Still watchable, but not without a good break in between episodes.

13. Loner Life in Another World. Ep. 8

I figured it out, it’s not the show that’s bad, it’s Tanaka. Tanaka is a terrible character. Constantly complains about wanting to leave, has the chance to, comes back anyway. Bro, stop being a punk, just leave man. The only way to save this show is to start a harem. Maybe the ring does it, I don’t know, this one is one to forget.

D: Do Not Recommend

Shows I do not recommend you not watch for various issues.

F: Bad

Anime with glaring issues that make them not only difficult to watch, but the watcher angry at times.
