These rankings are as of the episodes premiering May 17th to May 23rd

Note: No Mushoku Tensei aired episode this week.

S: Must Watch

Episodes I believe you must watch or are missing out on.

1. KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World! 3 Ep. 7

Team Darkness! The comedic pauses at the restaurant, the Darkness training arc at home, and almost every second of this episode is filled with comedy. I expected this show to have difficulty reaching the levels of comedy they did in the past seasons, but they continue to blow it out of the park every episode.

2. Dungeon Meshi. Ep. 21

Come for the wacky food dungeon adventure, stay for depth, character development, and great mystery. This episode had some great reveals including the ghost, a whole new dimension, and the prophecy of a new king? The introduction of the elves of the west only adds more to look forward. Again and again, I watch this and am overjoyed to know that it is not only what I expected, but so much more as well.

3. Urusei Yatsura. Ep. 42

I enjoy every episode of this show. The plots are so whimsical, the voice acting is top class, and the visuals - like the ending scene of Lum in the field - are great. David Production continues to hit it out of the park with this wonderful remake that I can’t recommend enough.

A: Very Good

Good episodes, anime I would recommend to someone looking for something to watch.

4. Kaiju No. 8. Ep. 6

I must say, I like this show. Seeing Kafka make himself useful without carrying in combat is great. I’ve seen some discourse with disappointment in the show so far, but I think it’s great.

6. Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf. Ep. 8

Introduction of another cute girl and maybe some jealousy? Whatever it may be, the story is still carried by the fantastic chemistry between our leads. I also like the stare down between our lovely wolf and a suspicious dog. Small touches like this are fun.

8. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hashira Training Arc. Ep.2

A much awaited episode on my behalf. Giyu’s arc is one of the more interesting in the story, and we have one that rivals it coming from Shinobu as well. Overall, 5 smiling Tanjiro’s out of six deep voiced crows.

5. Wind Breaker

Man, these fights are awesome. Cloverworks is doing a spectacular job animating these fights, keeping them fluid, and they are easy to follow. I like the conclusion and our MC has a new fire inside. WE get a preview of the leaders fighting and that was just as awesome as the previous fight.

7. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3. Ep. 7

We’ve left the meeting room! After enduring the yappathon, the build up has begun to bear fruit. It’s still early so I’ll leave my full judgement for later. Overall, not a bad episode.

B: Good/Solid

9. Grandpa and Grandma Turn Young Again. Ep 9

Another cute episode. Seeing our lovely couple able to enjoy moments they weren’t able to in the past is heartwarming. Seeing how they care for each other is the highlight of the show, but I do enjoy seeing everyone react to discovering their new youth.

11. Chillin' in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powers. Ep 7

The overpowered MC prevails! Again, I need my weekly dose of this opening song. As for the show, I like the girls putting in more effort and doing what hey can to contribute, but there are times where I wonder what the author has planned. As for now, Hiya best girl. Just kidding, Fenrys is just a sweetheart and isn’t far off from someone like Sylphy.

10. An Archdemon's Dilemma: How to Love Your Elf Bride. Ep 9

For has been a great addition to the cast as her internal conflict will force Zagan to make a difficult choice soon. Also, it seems clear who killed her father so I look forward to how that is settled. Overall, good episode. Our socially inept protagonist once again is unable to understand the weight of words and leaves us with a funny moment with his best frenemy.

C: It’s ok/Fine

These are shows I happen to pick up but struggle to finish. Still watchable, but not without a good break in between episodes.

12. Studio Apartment, Good Lighting, Angel Included

Cute girl +1! I like Lilishka, but the writing moves too quickly for me. Giving our MC another episode with Lilishka before she considers him the nicest guy she’s ever met would have been better. But hey, cute girls, I don’t mind.

D: Do Not Recommend

Shows I do not recommend you not watch for various issues.

F: Bad

Anime with glaring issues that make them not only difficult to watch, but the watcher angry at times.
