S: Must Watch

Episodes I believe you must watch or are missing out on.

1. Oshi No Ko. Ep 13. FINAL

Oh man that song is an earworm. The moments of dark ruby and light ruby sprinkled in the video and not in chronological order is great, a small detail but very well done. Ruby’s deadly stare is also frightening to see, the most of which is during her talk with Akane at night. We have a small time skip and a confirmation for season 3 so I look forward to that, but this season may make me read the manga itself. Overall, a great season that gave me all I wanted: Akane and Aqua officially in relationship. If I have any complaints it’s not enough Miyako however. See you all in season 3.

3. DAN DA DAN. Ep. 2

Animation continues to be stellar, the fight in this one was also cool but the edging until we meet the grandma is driving me crazy. Takakura’s depression when transformed is great, I wonder if he will eventually master it or if he must stay with ayase to control it. The first two episodes have been a lot of fun, I look forward to this season after two very good first episodes.

2. Bleach. Ep. 1

The return of a king. Whenever I look back to the big three I always remember why they are so influential and beloved. The thousand-year blood war has been great so far, and this starting episode gave us a reminder of why Bleach is so cool, but also of some issues with it. Personally, I don’t like how easily Uryuu beat Senjumaru. I understand that it’s likely hax abilities, but still it wasn’t my favorite. Of course, I don’t agree that this lowers squad zero’s reputation, they did beat the quincies twice before Yhwach became god. In conclusion, I can’t wait to see Aizen. If there is one thing the big three always had, it was memorable villains. Pain, Aizen, Doflamingo, all are so fun to watch.

4. Re:ZERO. Ep. 2

Wow, I find it impressive how they manage to make Subaru’s deaths always have impact. His expression help, but realizing that he remembers everything, pain and all, makes me commend him as many would go insane after a handful of deaths. Seeing others fail against wrath was also interesting, but Emilia stole the show today. I did not expect her to be as skilled in fight as she is, have we seen her fight before? I can’t remember but she looked impressive. The ending was also a major twist and something that I look forward to. I have high expectation for this show given season 2, I hope it will live up to it. At the very least, it’s already leaps and bounds better than slime season 3.

A: Very Good

Good episodes, anime I would recommend to someone looking for something to watch.

5. Blue Box. Ep. 3

Seems Haryuu is quite the trickster but I like that he is taking Inomata under his wing. Chinatsu is also a sweetheart though I wonder how her relationship with Inomata will progress. For now, focusing on improving is the main goal and I hope he will. Animation also stands out in this anime, seems I’m saying that for a lot recently but that’s never a bad thing. It is anime after all, the joy of watching and marveling at some of the images is always great.

6. Ranma 1/2. Ep. 1

Older anime and manga have such charm to them that stands out even with remakes. Urusei Yatsura is a great example, and the first episode of Ranma 1/2 conveys a similar feel. First episode was great, the quirk of Ranma and dad is funny and the arranged marriage fiasco will bring great comedy with it. I loved Urusei Yatsura so I’ve been looking forward to remakes for some time now. I hope this is just as good!

B: Good/Solid

7. Atri -My Dear Moments- Ep. 13. FINAL

Hmm, a decent ending in my opinion. I didn’t realize this was based on a visual novel either. the positive look into the future is nice, and Atri and Natsuki reuniting, seemingly forever, is also a nice conclusion to their story. Will add more in overall rankings, not bad.

9. Yakuza Fiancé: Raise wa Tanin ga Ii. Ep. 1

I have to agree with Kirishima on this one, strong women who can ruin your life are an absolute turn on. Although I did like regular and timid Yoshino, brazen and confident Yoshino is just as cool. Now, did she actually sell a kidney? That’s badass if she did but I think it was a bluff. Now I look forward to the ending, will she dump him as planned, or will she fall for him as he has for her.

11. If My Wife Became an Elementary School Student. Ep. 1-2

I knew this was going to be controversial the second it got announced. I’ve decided to give it a chance solely on the idea that it remains wholesome. It could go either way however, and I can only hope as many other anime has deviated from the holy road before. The first two episodes were nice, a simple and realistic depiction of how a family would react to the return of a loved one. I’m also interested in Marika’s current home life and how it will affect her relationship with her old family. I’m sure there will be drama but I have some hope this anime delivers on the wholesome front.

8. 2.5 Dimensional Seduction. Ep. 14

Always happy when anime decide to hit serious topics like anxiety and social difficulties. Nonoa is sweet and despite the issues that made her socially troubled she has taken a step forward and I’m happy for her. It’s difficult for people to do so, especially when interacting with someone they really like. Ririsa is also very sweet, she’s becoming more likable each episode. Also a return of Mikari, best girl in my opinion.

10.

Negative Positive Angler. Ep. 2

Hana and Takaaki are very likable, I’m glad both are nice to Sasaki who clearly needs this type of support. As he does have a limited lifespan, I hope he can find some joy in what he has left. Seems he hasn’t been going to school either, many of his issues are starting to catch up to him and I hope he can find the strength to face them with his new support.

12. Blue Lock. Ep. 1

I’ll be the first to say, I’m not the biggest fan of blue block. It’s fine, very hype, but yea that’s about it. The animation is give or take, at times not bad, at times colored panels. But it is hype, and that’s enough for this show. I hope the battle against U-20 will deliver.

C: It’s ok/Fine

These are shows I happen to pick up but struggle to finish. Still watchable, but not without a good break in between episodes.

13. Loner Life in Another World. Ep. 3

Yes some more wish fulfilment please. This anime lacks direction in my opinion, I find it hard to understand what it wants to do other than be an outlet for the author to write out his dreams. Well, I guess that is enough. Fish girl is already best girl in my opinion, but I doubt there will be any substantial development in this anime. If we’re lucky we’ll get a harem. For now, I hope we get a clear direction soon, are we striving for the longer life, will he be a hero, I don’t know, just do something.

D: Do Not Recommend

Shows I do not recommend you not watch for various issues.

F: Bad

Anime with glaring issues that make them not only difficult to watch, but the watcher angry at times.
