S: Must Watch
Episodes I believe you must watch or are missing out on.
1. The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You Season 2. Ep. 7
Awesome to see one of my favorite chapters animated; Shizuka is just far too adorable and now I have a hole in my wall so that’s fun. Rentaro had a legendary run this episode, from showing how caring he is, to pulling through an singing alongside Shizuka, and then protecting his new girlfriend all in one episode. The guy is as unstoppable as Shizuka is adorable. Mimimi is here, and she’s already a great addition naturally. Before she can join however, she must settle her rivalry with the one and only Nano. Of course Nano will not allow anyone to take Shizuka away from her so its going to be a duel next week. For any manga readers, we are getting that infamous panel next week, I’m prepared to laugh and I hope you are as well.
3. Dragon Ball Daima. Ep. 19
Goated. Seriously, people not liking this anime for being adventure for a large part bothers me as that is at teh root of Dragon Ball, though I understand as many are fans of Z. As a fan of this anime, and all of dragon, these has been nothing but a treat and I smiled from start to finish this episode. Adult form SS3 Vegeta, adult Goku SS4, what more can we ask for? Oh yea, how about confirming the one thing Vegeta cares for more than his own sayian pride. That’s right, Bulma. (Or the baths, just as understandable.) Man, thanks Toriyama. Also, the super sayian demo, like come on who doesn’t love that. One of the most iconic scenes of all time getting a rerun, with a bonus?! I mean, this anime just keeps on giving.
1. Orb: On the Movements of the Earth. Ep. 22
I’m not smart enough to understand this episode so I’ll take it slowly. The big moment for me was Draka asking if precedent for Heliocentrism being suppressed existed, leading to the bishop realizing that it hasn’t existed anywhere else. “Whether it is considered blasphemy or not depends on who is in charge.” Is a statement that could be used today and anywhere so it really stuck out to me, and it describes the reason behind heliocentrism being suppressed in this area at least. Antoni does explain what likely happened as well, which is summed to one guy had an inferiority complex and declared heliocentrism bad because of his shortcomings; and so, the myth that heliocentrism was a forbidden was just a myth . I never considered Draka would take this gamble, and if I did I would have never agreed to her plan, but it is genius despite being such a gamble. Of course, Nowak steals the episode again. Him trying to justify heliocentrism as blasphemy was amazing. Even if Antoni can consider other facts, very few have been affected by heliocentrism as Nowak has. Not only was his livelihood based upon it, not only has he killed because of it, even his own daughter died because of it. Yet, all this time, his understanding of the problem was minimal if not nonexistent. This realization, setting aside that he will be erased from history, is incredible and his movements and voice convey that perfectly. Great work from the team, conveying such emotion and shock is difficult, but they did it. Nowak remembering the names of those he killed was also a great touch, only emphasizing the impact as he tries to justify it and fails. Man, never thought I would like Nowak’s character so much but he is such a necessary character that it boggles my mind. One final realization, it’s incredible that at the end of the day, what will save heliocentrism, is money. Am I surprised or saddened? Both, I am both.
4. Re:Zero. Ep. 12
Man that reveal of the heart was brutal to see but I’m happy we get a happier ending there as this anime is not afraid to hit us where it hurts. I am still not convinced Regulus is dead, but we’ll have to see about that. Jumping back from the moon is a crazy feat as well, just how strong is that guy? While they did set up the next fights, I’m left thinking about how satisfactory it was to see Regulus be beaten. Even at the end he thought it was all about him when Emelia didn’t even remember the guy. Very much like people in the real world, always great to see them get what they deserve. Now the real question is, what will happen to all of Regulus’s ex wives?
A: Very Good
Good episodes, anime I would recommend to someone looking for something to watch.
5.
Solo Leveling. Ep. 8
What a fun anime to watch, the fight against Baran was awesome and even took Jinwoo to the limit. Those final moments were pure hype, the kind that make you stand up and want to hit the gym after which is exactly what I’m doing. Esil helping was great as well, takes a lot to conquer such fear but Jinwoo will certainly appreciate it. With that victory, does Jinwoo now have all the ingredients? I can’t remember but I hope he does as I’m certain his help will be needed on Jeju island and they’ll be looking for him to join as well. I don’t do this often, but I’m picking up the source material, this is just to fun to not do so. If you aren’t watching this, what are you waiting for?
7. Sakamoto Days. Ep. 8
Oh man I’m in love, also nice to see how Sakamoto’s old buddies are still nice to him. I thought the order would be after him given the bounty, and I’m sure we’ll eventually see them face off but that interaction was awesome. Shin’s backstory was sad, but I’m glad he’s doing well now. Sakamoto trusting Shin to dodge his attacks was nice and the plan they used was smart as well, but I’m starting to wonder if the words of Sakamoto becoming weaker is true and how that will affect him in the future.
9. Rurouni Kenshin. Ep. 44
Oh man what a way to end the episode, things got bad at the end and it left me wishing there was another episode ready for me after. Himura is holding back for some reason, but he pulls out a new technique though I wonder if this will become a problem as Shishio is watching. Sanosuke will never reach the engine room I fear, unless the fires will spread much faster than he can search. Perhaps I am wrong, but things are bad in Kyoto and I wonder what will be the changing point. Perhaps… a robe wearing master? Yes please.
11. Shangri La Frontier. Ep. 20
Where did Rei go? Of course she is plenty strong so no one worries after gathering. Now that we have gathered, we’re back to figuring things out, I wonder if we will end up fighting or if this is just a make it out alive situation. Either is cool, but it will be difficult no matter what comes for the bird man and co.
6. Ishura. Ep. 8
Man they just keep doing it. First, I did not expect to see Kuze so that was cool, but man is Uhak a great character. At first you believe him to be some mindless being, almost childlike in a giant body. Very soon that changes, Uhak’s true character revealing itself as he lives with the village and they come around. Knowing how much he respects life, to the point where he eats those he kills with diligence, to have such strong will you bring into reality against word arts, man what a guy.
1 8. My Happy Marriage. Ep. 8
An episode of treachery, it seems the traitor may not be as obvious as I believed or there may be more than one. Of course, most will be too distracted by the futon scene, not I. I am to distracted by best girl.
10. Apothecary Diaries. Ep. 31
Now I have been vocal on how I feel about MaoMao figuring everything out, but this episode was very well written. The lore behind the vision being passed down and used to determine bloodline is great, but I’m glad they brought up that the trait is not always passed down so it is not a perfect test. Also, the peaceful takeover is very interesting as well, something I never thought of it but that is genius. Of course, MaoMao is now getting more clues to Jinshi’s true identity, but it is still ways away from caring so we won’t make that connection yet. Even if she does, I doubt it will mean much to her, it will just be a very big surprise.
B: Good/Solid
C: It’s ok/Fine
These are shows I happen to pick up but struggle to finish. Still watchable, but not without a good break in between episodes.
The Daily Life of a Middle-Aged Online Shopper in Another World. Ep. 8
Another one added to the group, a nice addition though I wonder what more she will do in the coming episodes. Also, are we going to expand on Anemone’s ability to use magic? I know Kenichi wants a slow life and all, but that’s a talent that should be explored. Plus, with his mogul wife I doubt he will need to spend much time working on anything else.
D: Do Not Recommend
Shows I do not recommend you not watch for various issues.
F: Bad
Anime with glaring issues that make them not only difficult to watch, but the watcher angry at times.
Some words
More to come soon!
