My head hurts. Red girl, at least that what her name is under the cast list, is such an interesting character for what we have seen of her, them? It’s a psyche attempting to become human, it even suggest giving itself evolutionary pressure and undergoing evolution, though it battles itself on how to undergo such evolution. A wonderful bit that has left me thinking, but not with enough time as the final battle has begun. 9S vs A2. Oh man. 9S is far gone, even victory will end in his demise. His ending journey is such a difficult watch, but one of realistic results given the circumstances. A2 has also been great to watch. She differs in that she has long since been disillusioned by her former purpose, even the reveal of human extinction was of little note to her. Of course, it’s still surprising, but she takes it in and says it par for the course of her former bosses. Man, what a show. What’s in contention for anime of the year? Frieren? If Frieren is in contention then I would give it to either or, with some leaning towards Frieren, but nothing else beating this anime. Mushoku Tensei comes close, but not surpassing it. Still, win or not, this is an incredible watch. On a final note, with all the loss in this anime, I’m surprised at how heart wrenching Devola’s cry was. Props to the voice actress, conveying such sadness in a cry is difficult but she does amazing and pulls tears with ease.
