1. Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Season 2. Ep.10
SUMMARY
In a season full of wonderful anime it hurt to see many of them go. And yet, even amongst all the greatness we saw, I can say with confidence that this one is special. I love a good fight, I cry at a heartbreaking scene, I need to goon! But, I can count on one hand the anime that bring the feeling that Frieren does, it's simply that good. This season has been a joy, and I hope to watch season 3 one day as well. Onto the episode.
Today's journey has us helping Gehen who has built a bridge across the canyons of the great plateau. He built it using funds from the great Himmel; even after 200 years he never forgot what the bridge could do and would have done for his fallen village. It's finished, but in danger because of giant bird monsters. That could only mean one thing, we're off on another hunt.
After crossing the bridge, we arrive at an adventurers camp. Three's more monster slaying ahead, all in the name of Frieren's careless spending. This monster they face is quite the majestic one, a wolf with a long beard. The initial flurry of spells are dodged with ease, even Stark is kicked away in an exchange. The wolf has the ability to sense magic attacks it seems, but relying on this ability is something the girls can use to their advantage. It's sensing must have a limit, and boy does Fern surpass this limit.
Job's not done unfortunately, they defeated the lord of the area and summoned it's pack. The wolves aren't the only ones with backup however, it's the Chivalric Order of Norm! A job well done is deserving of a reward, but money isn't the greatest thing out there. The group is given a feast for the eyes, one that has inspired more than just them.
We end the season with Frieren making more bad spending decisions, and a look at Denken. You thought he was cool before? He's off to fight Macht of the Golden Land, the last and strongest of the sages of destruction. He'll do it to save his homeland, because that's just who he is; what else do I expect from a guy like him.
Another wonderful season, a watch that makes me feel jubilation inside. Frieren is special, in a way that is difficult to explain. Think of it like this. There are times in everyone's life that they can look back upon and smile, a day out riding bikes until sundown with friends, the crowd of laughs at a family gathering, even listening to the stories of a new friend found on a trip. It's an experience of life that carries beauty and meaning, and that tis what Frieren feels like. We're watching someone reminisce upon a beautiful time in her life, while creating more. What a joy to watch.
10/10, 10/10 season. We also got an announcement for the golden land arc in October 2027, I hope to see you then.
2. Hell's Paradise Season 2. Ep.12
SUMMARY
Not even a finger tiwtch from Yuzuriha to start off the episode, let's make things even worse why not?Gabimaru's collapses due to the effects of the flower he swallowed, this guy will think of wife until the very end, so I doubt the ultimate yearner is done for. Onto the best opening of the season.
Gantetsusai has the surprising desire to appear like a wise master. This group continues for the boat and asks Choubei whether he wil be joining them considering what he is now. The future is uncertain for everyone at the moment even if the goal is to return to the mainland. A large explsion grabs everyone's attention however, Shugen has arrived.
The ninjas with Shugen target everyone inside but the inital group is nothing to our Gabimaru. There is another carrying his name now however, I look forward to seeing more of them. Shugen's group is lead by nothung but bloodlust as they seek to kill almost eveyone by the standards of what is a target. Well, all except for one who seems to have the hots for Gabimaru, an interesting twist that could cause some issues.
It's now a three way war between the Tensen's forces, the orignal group, and Shugens's army. Gantetsusai has the best line of the entire series as he disses war. War isn't fun like battle, survival is matter of luck, and ordered by inhuman monsters; have some class like the wise man Gantetsusai. As this a war, the ninjas don't just target the original crew, the new Gabimaru faces off agianst Rien.
Switching around now, Sagiri protects Mei until some Doshi arrive on horses. The strange attack could have ended bad for her, BUT BEST GIRL YUZURIHA ARRIVES JUST IN TIME. As Yuzuriha explains what the best course of action will be, Isuzu finds them. They're not the only ones found by the asaemon, each of the groups must now face off against one of them.
The only one I worry for is Gantetsusai who is found by Shugen; however, there is another monster that has appeared! Zhu Jin survives and makes way for the Banko where they fuse and become a giant monster. The fights are set up, and boy I am excited to see what is likely the conclusion of this series in the next season.
9.5/10, Yuzuriha is alive, all is well, give Gabimaru what he yearns for
3. To Your Eternity Season 3. Ep.21
SUMMARY
Alright, this will be for both episode 21 and 22. Before we start, a quick note. I enjoyed the start of this season very much. Seeing everyone try and adjust to the current world, and Fushi's struggle with the Nokkers was nice. Mizuha could have been great, but I think there is a hesitation from the author on how to deal with the nokkers. This could be a narrative decision, perhaps he wants us to struggle with it, but the problem is I don't. They need to go, and that is why the last few episodes have soured me this season.
Onto the episode. Graduation's in six months, while the students wonder where they will go, Fushi struggles with the decision on taking the black one's power. It's here that Fushi has a strong realization, why does the black one allow the suffering that the people Fushi has met, and everyone, goes through. It's well within his power, and it is something that Fushi can do should he accept the power.
After this, for some reason, we're meeting with a Nokker. You remember? The same that terrorized generations upon generations of people with little regard other than their own survival. I remember. Fortunately, that isn't the focus here, we dive into Fushi's mind as he wonders about what he could with omnipotent power.
This is an interesting dilemma, and I believe we should have focused more on this throughout the season. Fushi, with the black one's power, can rid everyone of pain and strife. But, is that ok? What does he give up in doing so, and would doing so have unforeseen consequences.
And so, we're three years from when everyone arrived. The world is learning more and more about Nokkers as Yuki's efforts to coexist continue. I will never accept this, but lets see how it goes.
Yuki has created a youtube channel where they use the nokker inside Michi to spread awareness of Nokkers. Sumika isn't aware of this, and overhears it as they discuss during a meeting. This forces Michi to reveal the truth to Sumika who accepts them, and soon to the world where they find an outburst of support.
Maybe I'm in the wrong? I despise the Nokkers, yet, I couldn't help but feel bad for Nokkker Michi as she is ostracized the next day at school. Once the crazy and evil creatures, but that emotion can't be faked. Darn it, they've swayed me. And well, Fushi is helping them so who am I to say no when the people of the world are willing to accept them. Maybe they can change, at least, the nokker within Michi has an inkling of my support.
Fushi doesn't take the black one's power, believing things can work as they are. We still have one more episode left, onward we go.
Epsiode 22, the season finale.
Another time skip? We're meeting with Mizhua and some friends for her birthday. Everyone except Yuki has changed, but the best one here is Tonari. We never got to see her around this age so it's a pretty cool surprise.
As for some big reveals, the increasing knowledge of Nokkers has also increased the popularity of the guardians. Mizuha plans to go overseas and help with the Nokker issues, all that she asks from Fushi is for him to understand her decision. Is that all for Mizuha? Perhaps, but there is another farewell.
Boy Black's time has come. He will lose his powers, memories, and everyone he has met. I'm glad someone is still not all aboard the coexistence train, but I agree that this is the decision Fushi made while knowing the risk. Boy Black isn't leaving the group with nothing however, his memories are inside a pot like that of Eko's people. That is all for the best character of the series, let's see what he has left us.
We hop into Boy Black's memories as soon as he leaves. The memories tell of his beginning, and of how he created the world. It began as nothing more than amusement as he watched over a world opposite of his own, and it was those differences that he found beautiful. In time, he wished to live amongst them, creating the pot people, and then Fushi to manage the world he would soon leave behind.
Oh man, was this the best scene in the entire series? As Boy Black is celebrating his birthday, the time has come for his old existence to cease. He understands this, and knows that it is coming. The countless days of journey alongside Fushi begin to disappear; the reason for tears may never be known, but I am certain even he felt sadness to lose those memories.
What is there for the future now? Fushi continues his journey, searching for a reason may be just as fulfilling as having one in the first place. If there is one thing he is doing right, it's cherishing the moment, something I believe we've rarely seen Fushi do, and for that I am happy.
Sixty years pass, the world continues on as Fushi watches. It's nice to see our friends getting old, but their journeys don't end there. Fushi is more than willing to bring them back should they wish, I wonder just how far they will go.
Ummmm , loved Tonari's older design. While I have my issues with how Fushi handled things this season, I really liked the final two episodes. I've always wanted Fushi to live a an enjoyable life, and for his friends to have that opportunity as well. It seems possible now, and they'll continue to enjoy their journey for as long as they wish. That, in my opinion, is incredibly beautiful.
Now, what was that at the ending?!
Umm, 9/10 for the episodes, 8.5/10 for the season. I wish we focused more on the crew, anytime something good happened for them I couldn't help but cheer and feel good. Everything around Satoru was great as well, and the ending scene could hint at a little more in the future.
4. Trigun Stargaze. Ep.12
SUMMARY
We start of the episode with Meryl attemping to play the song of the plants. As she does, the space fleet launches a combined attack at Knives. He dodges the attack, allowing it to hit the planet where it causes havoc saved only by those capable on the planet. Knives begins his attack, piercing every ship within the fleet and dragging them down. Is it all over?
Back on the piano, Meryl's voice reaches the plants. It's enough to save the ships from being dragged into an explosive fate, and soon the voices of the plants bloom from every ship until a giant plant is born. It's up to Vash now.
It's Vash vs Knives in the middle of a metoer shower, what a battlefield to do it in! Nai is declared dead, giving Vash no other choice but to fight. Thier exchange is quick, Vash ends with the upper hand and the oippoirunity to kill Nai. Having learned everything, Vash declares what his answer will be, he will not kill Nai, he will choose not to leave him alone as everything else, inclduing the plants, does.
Vash creates the portal needed to move onto the world of plants alongside Nai, but his brother won't allow it. Vash has gone through enough, so Nai sacrfices himself to let Vash live on.
One year time skip!
Julai has been reborn. Water was created on the planet due to Nai's actions, creating usable soil that has allowed greenery to propser though only for a small portion of the planet. Many of the residents have left with the fleet, while a select few remain behind to care for the blooming planet.
Most of the crew joins the last ship to join the fleet in reaching new fronteirs. Vash intented to stay in No man's land, but his friends won't allow it. Before this, he must answer to the planet's ace reporter. I was a bit worried for a time, but I sure am glad we got the good ending, Vash, and everyone in his group deserved it.
9/10, to new frontiers
5. Classroom of the Elite 4th Season: Second Year, First Semester. Ep.1
SUMMARY
This is going to be a tricky one to write, but this will be for episodes 1 - 4 of Classroom of the Elite season 4!
As usual, Ayanokouji is the targeted for another attack; this time, it's someone from the white room after the boy. Before battle can start, we get a cool new app for the students called Over All Ability that gives stats on other students. Are Ayanokouji's stats correct? We'll let the season decide.
Just as there is more to the app then we can see at first, we're getting a new style of examination never done before. Our class is going to pair with first years! Anyone who hates social interaction as much as I do is in deep trouble, it's time for a strategy meeting.
What matters most here is pairing up everyone in class with someone capable of evening out their weaknesses. Suzune is in charge, and she targets class 1D who are acting as a unit. Hosen and Tsubasa from 1D are the ones to approach 2D, it's goes about as well as one would expect from the students of this school. It'd be an interesting twist to see a bunch of students fail, though I doubt Suzune will allow it.
As difficult as it is to find partners, I never expected a first year student to walk up and make the offer. Of course, Ichika has a screw loose so she's fall right in line for the student body. Other classes use the moment as an opportunity to gain advantage over each other, and information that can be used to destroy each other in the future.
There is a big emphasis on Tsubasa at the moment, is she the student from the white room? If she is then she would be more than capable of taking 1D from Hosen, though Suzune prefers a more diplomatic method for now. Ayanokouji still hasn't made his move yet, the guy is too busy doing what he does best, manipulating women.
Negotiations with Hosen are as difficult as we knew they would be. Hosen resorts to violence and we get a brawl between him and Sudo. Has the principal changed the rules enough to allow such fights? I'd like to see Suzune against some of the girls at school, for now I'll settle with Ayanokouji taking over. Not only does he choose Hosen as his partner, he also creates the alliance between their classes.
There is a plot to get Ayanokouji expelled given to the first year students and maybe even more. Tsubasa, Hosen, and Ichika were all given this mission, the guy may be getting to popular for his own liking. None of them are of concern to the boy at the moment, it's all on the mystery of the other white room student. Just who could they be?
9/10, pacing was pretty good for these episodes, but that ending song might make it difficult for some to go into the next episode in general
A: Very Good
Good episodes, anime I would recommend to someone looking for something to watch.
6. The Darwin Incident. Ep.13
SUMMARY
Anarchy Boys for the win. Children have always been more accepting of the unknown as they have yet to become firm in beliefs. Grace bringing Charlie to the store was a good move, but I still fear her boundless optimism will lead to consequences.
Ava is dying as the ALA continues with their terrorism. In this case, they've created a butcher's truck with human bodies. I'm more intersted in Charlie however. That guy is still as stoic as ever, but the deaths of his parents has a clear effect on him. He does seek those who were behind the deaths of his parents, but it's not for revenge in his mind, it's to protect those he still cares for.
As they discuss this, Ava's final moments are here. Lucy notices Ava's finger presses and gets the doctors to bring her word cards. Meanwhile, Rivera meets with someone who he says killed Charlie's parents, but that is still not the biggest plot twist. With her dying strength, Ava reveals that she is a mother of 2.
8.5/10, what a twist, will there be a season 2?
B: Good/Solid
7. Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon Season 3. Ep.1
SUMMARY
Kikoyu and Boxxo start of the third season with some friendly competition. Hey, if Rent a Gf can get 5 SEASONS, then this shouldn't be a surprise.
It hasn't been that long since last season, but enough time has passed for us to celebrate Boxxo's birthday. Everyone gives the beloved machine some gifts, though Lammis has the best surprise by creating something similar to Boxxo's home world celebrations. It's a nice celebration, but I can't ignore the question at hand, will Boxxo become human?
That's just my own wish, let's talk about other wishes. Lammis wants to speak to Boxxo. The best he can do at the moment is break apart his sentences, unless he is speaking telepathically with Kikoyu. We see this as she discusses leaving the dungeon, a dangerous venture but one she must make for her friend.
Boxxo and the team leave for the Dog Mountain Stratum themselves and find information on the Menagerie of Fools. That battle must wait however, we're in search of another person and there's an entire sea waiting to be enjoyed.
Anyone watch Negative Positive Angler? These three would give the Angler crew a run for their money with the bountiful catches they get. One of them is a giant clam being cooked over a nice fire until stopped by Shui and Hebui.
Just what's inside? A cute girl of course.
7/10, the vending machine returns
C: It's ok/ Fine
These are shows I happen to pick up but struggle to finish. Still watchable, but not without a good break in between episodes.
D: Do Not Recommend
Shows I do not recommend you watch for various issues.
8. There was a Cute Girl in the Hero's Party, so I Tried Confessing to Her. Ep.13
SUMMARY
You can't convince me that the romance between Cecilia and Yoki is anywhere near as good as that between Raven and Happiness, it's not even close. Yoki helps take down the man that was impersonating his armored ego with some help from Cecelia that eventually leads to him confessing, but he'll have to wait a little longer for an answer.
Soon after this is done, Cecelia makes it clear that she isn't going to marry whoever the kingdom wants. We get a confession from both Cecelia and Yoki to end the episode, but I felt nothing. I'm still annoyed by Cecelia's hesitation the entire season and believe the sudden willingness to be true to her emotion was done too fast as it only happened this episode. She's known about her feelings for some time now, but we spent an entire season chasing her and it felt, tiring.
Ahhh, that's it. 5/10, Raven and Happiness forever
F: Bad
Anime with glaring issues that make them not only difficult to watch, but the watcher angry at times.
