Anime Winter 2026 Weekly Ranking March 20th to March 26th
March 20, 2026
Ranking for anime episodes released March 20, 2026 to March 26, 2026
As much as it pains me to say it, another season has come to an end. This was one for the books with great shows like Frieren and Sentenced to Be A Hero, and even JJK. I look forward to welcoming some new anime of the season, but I will look fondly to the amazing work we got for this one. See you next week.
S: Must Watch
Episodes I believe you must watch or are missing out on.
1. Sentenced to Be a Hero. Ep.12
SUMMARY
Teoritta's good nature almost gets her killed. Luckily, her quick thinking saves her as Kazuya and Xylo deal with the demon blight. Glad she's ok, she's too adorable to lose. Not all is joy and giggles however, Kivia recieves the news she feared, I wonder what her first actrion will be.
We knew that Kivia's fear was warranted, but I never expected the next twist as Rhyno meets with Spriggan. The guy isn't just a terrible person, he's the demon lord Puck Puca, and he could be the king we've heard about as well.
Rhyno kills Spriggan, so we're off to the other danger at hand. Kivia confronts her uncle and reveals what she knows. It's not just suspicions, she's researched his actions, the lies of false units, and now holds the hilt of her sword. I love her conviction, even going against the idea that she will be giving up her own to save others. She's good at heart, abandoning strangers is not her way.
Kivia orders the arrest of her uncle, starting a short scuffle in which her partner is killed. Ishigami Shizuka gives an incredble performance for almost ten straight minutes, ending with Kivia killing her uncle in a jaw dropping scene. You think the voice actors are killing it lately? I agree, but shout to the artist, Kivia's expression at the end was some of the best depictions of a mixture of devastating emotions I've seen.
Work for the heroes is never over. The attack they faced was just a disctration and the second capital, the capital of our great king Norgalle, has fallen.
News only continue to worsen, Kivia has been arrested and is dragged into an interrogation where they try to coerce to lie for her freedom. While in her cell, she receives a visit from a holy knight and their goddess. She's offered two choiches: execution or penal hero. This option gives light on the nature of heroes, and the nature around the first goddess who created them.
And so, we have our newest addition to the group of heroes. What an absolutely fantastic way to end the season.
This anime started with a fantastic first episode, but I saw a lot of eopple become disappointed by what came after. I've enjoyed it throughout, it's a great anime with great animation, art, and overall qaulity. Characters like Teoritta and the heroes were great to watch, and there is so much mystery and intrigue in this world that I really hope we get more of it and soon.
10/10, fantastic last episode.
2. Jujutsu Kaisen: The Culling Game Part 1. Ep.12
SUMMARY
Welcome back to JJk as we follow the main character, Yuta. I don't care what you say he's still better than potential man!
We start with Yuta trying to lead people to safety before being attacked by a swarm of cockroaches. Yuta vs Kurourushi, Mappa isn't holding back on the awesome animation for the final episode. And I mean with full sincerity, this was some insane animation.
Enough gawking over the animation, for the next few sentences at least. Yuta holds back to hide some of his abilities from other players who are watching, a testament to his skill as one of the few S class sorcerers. I get why he's holding back but Yuta sure does kiss some strange things.
No time to rest! Yuta is immediately in another fight after taking victory against the roach. He's against Ms. Uro, and soon Ishigori.
Yuta vs Ishigori might just be the coolest fight we've had yet. We have some close quarter action, plenty of great special attacks, and great music to follow. Uro joins in as well, showing of her skill by deflecting Ishigori's beam and landing a solid strike on Yuta. He's resilient and powerful alone, calling Rika to his side is simply unfair.
With Rika at his side, Yuta is another level. The myriad of abilities as his disposal is such an overpowered ability limited only by time. Ishigori and Uro are no slouches however, they give Rika and Yuta a great fight that culminates to a sorceress greatest technique.
THAT'S RIGHT! DOMAIN BATTLE TIME!
Well, sort of. Kurourushi returns and breaks the domain battle, making it a four way where he holds the advantage for a moment as Uro's unable to control her ability well after the use of her domain.
It comes down to Ishigori vs Yuta. What better way to end the season than a battle of beams?! Yuta gives Ishigori the fight he's wished for, but he he falls to a sorcerer's greatest ability, their cunning. SIKE! IN JJK OR IN FRIEREN, WHEN IT COMES DOWN TO IT, IT'S ABOUT HOW YOU CAN THROW HANDS!
10/10, is this what desert is like?
This may have been the best episode of JJK overall, it was just a thrill to watch such unbelievable animation. As always, and I'm sorry for repeating myself, I'm not the biggest fan of JJK, but boy do I love Mappa. The entire season is animated incredibly and has some fun direction as well such as the scenes following our favorite lawyer. Wonderful job with this season, I'd like more please.
3. [Oshi No Ko] Season 3. Ep.11
SUMMARY
Buckle in anime fans, we're getting a hour long episode for the finale.
To start off the episode we get to see some moms. Aqua has a flashback to a time with Ai, and his current self is soon next to Marina Tendouji. He did well to contain himself considering what he went through with Sarina.
Speaking of Sarina, the poor girl is crumbling under the stress of her workload. She's dedicated to performing in the film, but it will be difficult to lead in a cast with talented figures such as Akane and Kana. Ruby does what she can to take from the actors she is close to, but it is here where we see that she struggles with said advice.
Ruby's past haunts her. Her desire to be loved makes it impossible for her to believe the possibility that her mother didn't. Revisiting Sarina's days was crushing, and yet it is still difficult to understand just what Ruby felt upon seeing the new Tendouji family.
As Ruby breaks down in her room, Aqua steps in to help her. Ruby continues to sink into hatred, even against Aqua's wishes. Still, Aqua doesn't give up.
The moment is here. Perhaps the most infamous moment in the manga, but what leads up to it is fantastic in my opinion.
Aqua finally accepts what he has thought many times; the possibility of Ruby being Sarina. He believed this was nothing more than a selfish wish, but it is no longer something he can deny. Aqua makes his plea to Sarina, and she gives a tearful response as she realizes who Aqua is.
Shout out to Igoma Yurie and Ootsuka Takeo, their performances in this scene were incredible.
And so, it is time for that scene. You know, in the manga I always thought she said that directly to Aqua but that doesn't seem to be the case here. I'm sure the anime community will have a ball with it, but for now this just means Aqua and Ruby are on friendly terms again. Much friendlier now in fact.
We're diving a lot into the past this episode, though we're still missing one key figure. Before seeing them, we focus on Miyako and her struggle with managing as the owner of the business and mother of the talent. She is my favorite character in the show, but she is also near her limit. What's best to wind down? Some booze of course!
Enter the last key figure! Get abck here Ichigo, we're diving into the past of best girl!
Miyako arrived in Tokyo and was immediately scouted into the night life world. To her, it was a game in which she could level up more and more. The stars were bright, but even someone as beautiful as Miyako was lost in the crowd beauties. Despite losing her dream, it is in this world that Miyako meets Ichigo.
So is everyone just giving performances of the year this episode?
With Ichigo back, Strawberry production undergoes some restructuring. This is great for Miyako who can reduce her workload, and also get help from Ichigo who does have a talent for this work. As much as the guy deserves the bruises he received, I'm glad he gives Miyako the words she needed to hear. She has done amazing, something that not just anyone could have done. Best girl Miyako!
Near the end now, the script has been finalized. There's only one issue, we need child actors capable of taking on serious lines. A difficult task is at hand, though it seems Aqua has someone in mind for the role of young Ruby.
10/10, kudos to the team, this was the perfect episode to end season 3, I'm quiet impressed.
4. Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Season 2. Ep.9
SUMMARY
Did not expect to start with Mr. out of spells but not out of options himself this episode.
We return to Frieren and the gang after the wonderful opening to see a village destroyed by a flight of dragons. We’ve fought a dragon before, a whole group of them might be trouble even for the trio. Frieren rejects it at first, but she can't say no to the younglings, and a hell of a grimiore in my opinion.
Finding the dragons doesn't take long and Stark starts the battle himself. Like Frieren said, the guy could have taken them all out by himself with enough time, but he does get some back up this time around. And so, it's an absolute slaughter that ends in victory for the team.
You know who we haven't seen in some episodes, the boy himself. I guessed his reason for payment as his flashback started, yet it didn't take away from how much I loved his answer. The story keeps rewarding us as we focus some more on Himmel himself.
After passing the winter in a village, the crew heads to a monastary to find Himmel's memoir. If you didn't cry as Frieren opened the book and had a flash into Himmel's memories as she reads it, I don't know what to tell you. Such beautiful writing must be praised and cherished, what a story this is.
Back to the ferry, Frieren is abducted by a kraken where she gets to make use of her new spell. Good for her! One more episode to go, no I am not happy about it.
9.5/10, episodes like this remind why I love this story and why I consider to be amongst the best ever
5. Hell's Paradise Season 2. Ep.11
SUMMARY
After weeks of being left in the dark we return to the boy Gabimaru, or as I will call him from now on, the yearner.
Hopping into his memories, I'll start with this. YUI IS REAL, I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU SAY! And so, we follow the yearners wife as he returns home from a mission. Despite being married, Yui and Gabimaru are very awkward at home. Even so, it's clear thag Gabimaru has found something precious within Yui. So much so that he struggles to face her, fearing that he could steal the brightness in her smile. A beautiful thought, though soon we return to the site of battle.
Gabimaru injects himself with a suspicious substance, giving him a power up similar to that of the Tensen in regeneration and strength. As it turns out, it was Mu Dan's flower he injected himself with at the perfect moment, the chances only heightened on the verge of death, and because he has something to live for.
Yuzuriha joins the battle as Gabimaru uses his fire jutsu. The first exchange ends in defeat, there's still no bell however. All this time, the duo has been using their techniques to fool Ran and make him lose his sense of time. It's a fantastic plan that dispells the transformation and gives them the chance to strike.
Will Yuzuriha do it? Attacking will mean she could die, Ran makes the wrong bet here. Deciding there are worse fates than death, Yuzuriha makes the decisive blow to end the battle. Doing so leaves her in a bad state, and she remains behind after Gabimaru thanks her. It's a little ambigious, but I'm afraid of what may have happened.
9.5/10, I'm not ok
6. Trigun Stargaze. Ep.11
SUMMARY
Blue summers got his wish, killed at the hands of his master. He means nothing to Knives however, the guy is only here for Vash. Just how powerful is Knives now? He doesn't even need to look at those attacking him as they light him up with bullets. Vash lands a hit with his special bullet, but he has no way of fighting against the endless tentacles he faces.
As Vash is captured by Knives, Millie and Meryl infiltrate the ark. They're witness to Knives trying to assimilate with the Vash, though this is part of the plan. Vash will give it all he's got, but it will be in time to stop Knives from hitting the fleet?
With the ark arriving at at Octovern, Knives begins his plan. Milie and Meryl are found and chased by Elendira as this happens, though it is Knives tentacles that save Meryl from a wave of nails. Elendira reaches up, hoping to be chosen and is rejected. The rejection breaks her heart, and gives Meryl the clear shot to kill the enemy but she hesitates. Good on Meryl, maybe Vash has rubbed off on her and it's possible we have a new ally now.
Meryl taking the victory was a nice surprsie, but not as much as Knives failing. His connection to the plants ends with them withering, revelaing that he never understood them. Now believing that Vash is all he has left, Knives begins his plan for the next Big Fall.
Onto the ending where we see Vash traveling through the realm inside Nai. A heartbreaking memory is revealed here, the pain and fear of an ol friend Tesla. A secret that Nai kept from Vash to keep him from feeling the same pain, though the reveal allows Vash to understood what has driven Nai to become what he is.
9.3/10, one last episode
A: Very Good
Good episodes, anime I would recommend to someone looking for something to watch.
7. Digimon Beatbreak. Ep.23
SUMMARY
Forcing digivolution has been a big theme in this series, when will our first official mega digimon show up I wonder.
Klay forces his way into a mega but it's as unstable as one would imagine. Using the power of those he kidnapped and focing them into cold heart is an evil thing to do, and the team is outmatched by the power they face. Even so, kids don't make smart decisions.
As the kids give it everything they have, Kyo revs up his e-pulse from a safe distance. I was really hoping we would get a mega from him but that is not to be. Still, with him back in the fray we get one awesome final attack from Murasamemon. It's a little unfair, who doesn't love a cool attack with a sword?
That was a cool ending to the fight, good buy Kyo even saves Klay to make sure he pays for his crimes. Well, that's all there is to this episode. Definitely not a jaw dropping cliff hanger or anything.
8.5/10, oh, oh man
8. The Darwin Incident. Ep.12
SUMMARY
Phil holds steadfast, all the power to him. His badge is revoked for his actions, all his efforts over the years threatened to be taken away. yet, In the face of pressure, big Phil stands his ground. This fire opening is dedicated to you this time Phil!
Life continues for Charlie with nothing much changing other than his home. Oh, there's also the matter that his body is going through significant changes. That's right, Charlie is hitting puberty! The reason for it happening later than most species is mystery, though it doesn't matter so long as nothing is wrong with him in Grace's words.
Lucy racks her head about animal rights after dinner. Like her, I'm too dumb to comment on the fact, but we don't get a reveal about my mental brethren in this conversation. Lucy was conceived artificially, something that she never thought bothered her until the kidnapping. It's not the reason Lucy likes Charlie, though it is something to connect over.
Speaking of connections, seems Charlie's puberty is hitting like a train. I give him credit for popping the question with no hesitation, but the time isn't right! I still think Charlie is too detached to understand sex as more than a means to reproduction, though puberty could be changing this as well.
With one episode left, there is a final collision course for the ALA and Charlie. I wonder how it will end as I can't see this concluding in 20 minutes, but I've been surprised before.
8.5/10, hold your horses Charlie!
9. To Your Eternity Season 3. Ep.20
SUMMARY
Ok pause. At 3:28 to be exact. I have a small issue, as a matter of fact, I have problem. We can't do this. Up this point, three seasons, and plenty of times this season alone, we have not seen a case that gives us the belief that they can coexist with Nokkers. They are, by definition, an invasive species that uses humans as they see fit. Yuki's ignorance is far too much here, he hasn't seen the terrors of the Nokkers, and shouldn't be allowed to make this decision.
Although complete tragedy was avoided, the group that fought Nushi is under suspicion of crimes against humanity. We have a meeting to avoid arrest at a family restaurant, and the plan ends with some crazy stories to the ears of anyone who doesn't know the truth about Nokkers.
Once again, I DISAGREE WITH YUKI. THEY'RE ALL BAD! THEY ARE TAKING OVER BODIES THEY BELIEVE WILL DIE SOON AND USING IT FOR THEMSELVES, THAT'S HORRIFIC! CAN WE PLEASE STOP LETTING THIS GUY DICTATE DECISIONS, HE'S JUST TRYING TO HIT!!!!
GOOD THINGS? GOOD THINGS?! It's going to take a lot to convince me about this, Michi won't be enough. Yea their story was nice, but it's not enough!!!!
As heated as I am, the next scene makes up for it. It's time for Fushi to become what was created to be, Boy Black himself. It's here that we are reminded of the black one's personality. He's always had the power, but enjoyed being a witness to the world under him. Cruel and unforgiving, he is omnipotent and has been in control this entire time.
8.5/10, I really dislike Yuki, but everything with Fushi and Boy Black has been great
10. The Holy Grail of Eris. Ep.12
SUMMARY
Scarlett refuses to give up as the day of Constance's execution nears. She's gathering the information she needs, though I fear it may not be enough.
Enrique and Cecelia have a quick meeting that ends with her knocking him out. The girl is full of surprises but I still believe Enrique could solve a lot of this by starting a ruckus. If he starts blurting out accusations he could slow down plans, but I understand the danger he could put himself and others in should he do so.
Hamsworth continues to do Scarlett's bidding by keeping strange drinks from Constance. I've come to like this guy, but maybe not as much as Cecelia who goes on a killing spree. Seems Cess's infleunce brought her back to the light and she's at last able to return to her friends side.
Plans continue to crumble for the insurrectionists, but we're now at the moment of Constances execution. Is it too late? Not if our lordship has his say. With prince Ulysses safe, he's able to clear Constances name and we even get a new queen for the kingdom. Still, there is danger afoot.
Scarlett arrives just in time to save Constance from a falling statue. With Constance safe and playing a major role in foiling the plot, Scarlett's mission is done. It is time for her to return to next world, but not before we get to see her final moments and why she made that decision.
8/10, this was enjoyable overall, though the best part of it was Scarlett. I only hope she is satisfied with how things ended, or not! She hasn't achieved revenge just yet, and we get the return of best girl to send us off!
11. Chained Soldier Season 2. Ep.12
SUMMARY
From what I can remember, the main issue with last season was the studios utter resitance to making the ecchi manga an ecchi anime. There must have been some serious disconnect in the conversation about what the source material is, but Passione doesn't have this issue. I'd say they did a good job overall, we certainly had some spicy moments.
Onto the last episode, we start off hot with an Akira slide! Such a cool move comes with a hefty cost of course, it's time for Yuuki's reward and it might be up there for Passione's best work. Let me get a scene with best girl Tenka now!
Tenka proves why she is best girl once again, she's been taking care of her sister in law and even takes Yuuki to visit them. Yuuki shows off his massage skills here before returning to base and prepping for the next commander meeting.
The commanders aren't the only ones meeting however, the eight thunder gods gather. The eight thunder gods have great designs, but I can't be the only one seeing Fukuma and thinking of someone else. Tiakyoku arriving steals our gaze, and she dishes out punishment for the failure of allowing another to be slain. After this, they declare their plans to wreck havoc, will Yuuki and co be able defend the world?
Well, preparations have started at least. Yuuki has been busy and it will only get worse as the fights come. That's not it however, Yamashiro visits Yuuki and gives him a reward after a meal. She still wishes to get revenge for what he did to her, though that will be for the future.
8/10, yea, it's an ecchi
B: Good/Solid
C: It's ok/ Fine
These are shows I happen to pick up but struggle to finish. Still watchable, but not without a good break in between episodes.
12. There was a Cute Girl in the Hero's Party, so I Tried Confessing to Her. Ep.12
SUMMARY
This episode is the prime example of why I prefer Happines and Raven over who is supposed to be the main couple. For far too long we've been keeping each other at arms length, and now Cecelia can't even be honest with the guy. Does she even like Yoki?
Yoki heads out on a mission with the hero as Cecelia has a meeting with her arranged partner. She's keen on rejecting the marriage, and does so which is good. She does spend some time showing her arranged partner around the kingdom, eventually ending with Yoki learning if the marriage.
Another issue, Yoki rushes back home in his demon form where he fights against a strong warrior. He manages to escape but asks himself the question, what was he even going to do when reaching Cecelia? I understand the heartache upon hearing the news, but the guy has to gain some more confidence. Keeping such a secret was messed up from Cecelia, and the guy should accept that maybe she just doesn't like him. I mean, we know she does, but she's so hesitant to admit to it and he deserves better than that.
6/10, it's too late to add him disliking being a demon. Guess what, we already did that and better with Happiness and Raven
D: Do Not Recommend
Shows I do not recommend you watch for various issues.
F: Bad
Anime with glaring issues that make them not only difficult to watch, but the watcher angry at times.
