1. Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Season 2. Ep.8
SUMMARY
If you're going to start off with a camera backing away, into an attack, into a panning camera of a character charging for an attack, I'm going to glaze you bro. Madhouse, that was amazing.
Mappa has been insane this season with JJK and Hell's Paradise, but their competition remains just as good if not better. As I'm in awe of the animation, Stark and Genau contiune thier fight against revolte. Each attack is heavy, meant to kill in an insant as our duo struggles to find an oponeing. As such, Stark allows himself to be cut and creates the opening needed for Genau to hit and pin Revolte.
Revolte uses a dirty tactic, having a demon disguise themselves as a villager to force Genau away. The demon stabs him, and though he kills her, he has been left with a bad injury. Genau accepts his fate as Revolte closes in, but Stark won't!
Let's stop here for a moment. At 6:35, rewatch and simply listen to the music and what it does to the scene. It starts as we see Stark block the blow from all swords, slow and almost somber. But as Stark speaks, the music becomes stronger, the instruments almost sound like they gain strength from Stark who refuses to gvie up. This continues, growing until Genau joins in again, and the music peaks, now becoming triumphant and the loudest it has been. I'm not the best at describing music, but I hope everyone can appreciate how well music is used in this anime as Frieren has always been good at this, and in this season they have excelled.
Over to Fern and Methode. The poor girl continues to struggle as mama Frieren watches from abvoe with a big smile. I'm sure she's confident that Fern will win, but a hint would nice. Methode seems to enjoy taking the fight slow though, not struggling at all as she analyzes the scene. Landing a hit on her opponent proves she's more than capable, though we quickly switch back to Stark and Genau before getting more here.
The toughness of this battle is conveyed so well. Genau does what he can to avoid a fatal blow alongside Stark who is just doing whatever he can think of at this point. As this happens, we see Methode aid Fern by clearing out the fog. This allows Fern to use one of her greateest abilties in her strealth. And, in an instant, the girl attacks from a distance the demons have no chance aginst. This battle is done.
We're near the end now, Revolte uses his bare hands to stab both Genau and Stark. He claims victory, but he forgot about the indomitable human spirit. Both Stark and Ganau get one last strike in, collapsing soon after giving everything they had for victroy.
With grave injruies, both Stark and Genau are in terrible states. Yet, Genau refuses to allow Stark to die and does all he can to crawl over and help. He is a good guy, and an incredible character who I've enjoyed watching.
Unfortunately, we don't get Methode to join the crew, but this does allude to Sein returning one day and that makes me happy as well.
11/10, what an honor it is to watch anime like this.
2. Sentenced to Be a Hero. Ep.11
SUMMARY
Faeries have made it deeper into the city where more knights are stationed and ready to interecpt. The number of fairies is high, so I can only hope they can hold out as best girl Frenci leaves to focus on finding the demonlord. I really hope she doesn't die, Xylo deserves a beautiful woman after all is said and done.
Back to the heroes, Tatsuya is on a rampage for the ages. So much so that others beleive him to be a faerie. We're in luck as the adorable Teoritta is here to get the civilians moving alongside some inspiration from Rhyno.
Rhyno continues to show his dark personality. Another great contrast to the team and, as bad as he is, I'm glad to have such diversity amongst the characters.
Jayce and Neely arrive but are faced with artillery the moment they do. The battles are set here, Xylo heads for mister artillery, and Kivia is off to handle what she has feared most. Xylo's charge alongside Teoritta is awesome, but there are more opponents than just who they seek waiting for them by the tower. The fight is good, but the combo attack from Jayce and Xylo was an 11/10, incredible.
It's Xylo vs Boojum in his true form now. Their attacks overwhelm Xylo for a moment, enough to even overcome Teoritta with fear for a moment. I loved Xylo's words here, calming Teoritta by asking her to believe in him, what a guy. Deserving of a special weapon, and with that he takes victory!
10/10, oof, that ending music, and the music throughout the epsiode, was fantastic!!!!!
3. Hell's Paradise Season 2. Ep.10
SUMMARY
Shion is giving it everything agianst Zhu Jin. Shortening his own life means nothing so long as his mortal enemy remains.
The tactic of killing the opponent until they can no longer recover seemed effective for a time but it's stil the Tensen we're up against. I can't even imagine how it must feel to see your opponent recover like that, but Shion and Nurugai only raise their swords.
Before any more of the fight, we look into Shion's past. A poor and blind entetainer at birth, he did what he could to survive even if meant lying to the Yamada. Meeting Tenza in the Yamada gave him hope, and it is also the reason he so desperate to win.
We've gotten the least of this fight, but it's no less brutal than the rest. Shion maintaining control of his sword even as vines enter his body was an awesome scene, but will it be enough to take down a Tensen? Not without the cost of his life, and that is something Nurugai can't allow.
Nurugai rushes back in and bear hugs Shion. It's the only way to keep him from dying by attrition, and to help him reoocver some tao. Shion remains stubborn, though he finally comes around after Nurugai reveals Tenza's last moments. I didn't think I would cry here, at least Shion can live on.
9.5/10, GABIMARU, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
4. [Oshi No Ko] Season 3. Ep.10
SUMMARY
Very interesting decision from Ruby to use her internalized pain and lie about her true feelings afterwards. In a sense, that is acting, though only the last part of it was. This could make her great for the role of Ai who must have felt a similar overwhelming buildup of emotions.
Of course, Akane the prodigy is a near perfect replica of Ai having studied her before. She uses this chance to call Frill out on her true intentions and declare herself as the best option. Despite studying Ai, I have to agree that Ruby understands Ai the best and the competition ends with Ruby as the victor.
Although Akane has resigned herself from the role of Ai, she is still determined on stopping Aqua from taking it too far. I doubt she will succeed, and it only breaks my heart to know she will be hurt again.
For now, the ones hurt are the Idol Kana fans! Kana has made her choice official and is graduating from B Komachi, her first acting gig will be as part of Aqua's film. Aqua is fine with this, but his reasoning behind it could be more dangerous than I would like; the guy is becoming more deranged by the minute and is willing to use anyone he can, even somoene in love with him.
Aqua's meeting with crow girl - sorry I don't remember hearing her name - alludes to something interesting. He believes his reason for reincarnating is vengance, though she mentions that he should give it more thought. Could it be something else? I've only heard bad things about the ending of this manga so maybe this doesn't land as well. Still it would be interesting for another twist in the future. Whatever the case may be, production for the film is now in effect. We only have one more episode left however, will it all end with season 4?
8.8/10, The end is near, though I hear the last episode will be longer so rejoice Oshi No Ko fans
5. Trigun Stargaze. Ep.11
SUMMARY
Fushi from to your eternity must be a fan of Vash, if you you know.
The final graft for Knives is at hand, just how powerful will the guy be? Vash is succesful in using the plan to lure Knives and his goons out, the place for battle will be where it all started, the crash site of their ship.
It's Bluesummers vs Vash, Wolfwood, and Livio. I couldn't help but laugh at Wolfwood lighting him up before he was done takling. The battle starts, and we get why I have come to enjoy the 3d animaiton. It's so well used and the team uses the camera to make the action feel like a fun rollercoaster.
Yes, the fight is very cool, but that ending was incredible. Vash struggling to pull the trigger, his desire to never kill a human as strong as ever. But, as his close friend is the price to pay in exchange for his virtue, even he must break this rule and pull the trigger. Bluesummers got his wish, but what comes next is like the arrival of a god.
9/10, Knives knows how to make an enterance
6. Jujutsu Kaisen: The Culling Game Part 1. Ep.11
SUMMARY
DO IT POTENTIAL MAN!!!!!!!!
To keep it short, Fushigoro's domain is incomplete but it boosts his strength. I liked seeing him combo on Reggie until he is countered by Reggie summoning cars. The cars sink into the shadows and weigh down on Fushigoro who must bear the weight of that within his shadows. Seeing sorcerers learn and counter each other is always great, can potential man do the same?
The back and forth in this fight was great, a single move would be enough to swing momentum and these two gaveit their all. Curse techniques are cool and all, but nothing, AND I MEAN NOTHING, beats hand to hand combat. Just look at Kakashi vs Obito, and now at Reggie vs Potential man going at it. Potential man does win, +1 for him.
With that fight down, we're back to the main character Takaba! You heard it here first, he's capable of countering even Gojo! But we won't get to see him use it as Potential man is visited by an angel.
Did I say Takaba was the main character, I meant Yuta. The man that rivals Gojo in unusual ability, and also a man who has been slandered as much as Fushigoro in recent times. I'll settle it here, no one out potentials the potential man.
9/10, angel is here
A: Very Good
Good episodes, anime I would recommend to someone looking for something to watch.
7. To Your Eternity Season 3. Ep.19
SUMMARY
Alright boy black, fix this mess.
Before that, pause. I would not drink that water even if they put a gun to my head. This is Mizuha, the most manipulitive and insane person we know at the moment, drinking that water would only be done by an idiot. Fortunately, we have just the idiot in Yuki. Hus blind trust is dangerous, though I wonder if it will lead to any consequences.
As it turns out, who we see standing is no longer Mizuha. Her spirit looks down from above alongside her parents as the Nokker runs until reaching Fushi. We get a pretty neat fight here, though I'm really starting to get annoyed by Fushi's hesitation to kill. Still, I'll deal with it as the fight is pretty good and picks back again as we get Kahaku, the sixth descendant.
Fushi has the advantge in this battle, overpowering Mizuha with ease and even offering to be her new vessel. Ummmm, I'm not so sure about this idea. Whatever happened to eliminating the Nokkers? Is it such a difficult task that Fushi's new plan has fallen to this? Whatever the case may be, the battle ends at the hands of Mizuha's dad killing Mizuha and himself. His declaration is that the battle in this age in over, but only because of boy black. If boy black ceases to exist, then I beleive Fushi will lose.
Back to school, boy black has settled things with ease and Fushi gets an earful from Tonari. Well deserved. Saving the day once more, boy black also removes the nokkkers infesting the bodies of everyone at the school, can we teach Fushi this? Acutally, can boy black forget about retiring.
We end with a large dinner party at Yuki's place and I have to say, I'm too dumb to understand what is going on. We've made peace with the guardians? Mizuha and her family returning is fine and all, but this only means the Nokkers will return in future generations. Did he do well? I don't know man, I feel like nothing has been solved. The Nokkers are still a problem. Mizuha coming back is fine, I believe she has issues but is salvageble since the Nokkers affected many of her decisions, but the Nokkers ARE STILL OUT THERE!
9/10, the fight was great, but what is going on anymore.
8. Digimon Beatbreak. Ep.22
SUMMARY
Getting another of the Five stars was very delicious indeed. The difference in strength between them and others has never been more evident as she made easy work of two champion level digimon before getting bored and getting out of there.
The focus of this episode is Naito vs Kyo. Naito's obsession with Klay makes him desperate to win, pushing his digimon to the brink and even getting close before back up arrives to help Kyo. The team is victorious here, but Naito manages to escape after revealing that he too is against the monkey digimon.
With this, the three from team tactics have officially left the the Klay goons. I'm happy for them, the last few episodes revolving around them have been great and dark. Just in this episode we got an assassination attempt by drowning stopped only by the thing more powerful than digimon. That's right, the power of friendship.
8.5/10, Klay next?
9. The Darwin Incident. Ep.11
SUMMARY
Starting off with a burial hit where it hurt most. The autopsy showed that they were killed by someone other than the nieghbors, with the ALA being a prime suspect in this as well. Charlie isn't here, whther it be because of his lack of worth for such things or to protect himself I'm not sure.
After some time passes, Lucy is able to meet with Charlie once more. The death of the Steins only hurts more with him saying he wished he could have protected them, though we don't get much more before meeting with Dr. Fowler. Contacting realtives for Charlie have been a failure though that is not the reason Lucy has been summoned.
The issue with Charlie's ownership is the matter at hand. The representative offers the idea of a new foster home, as cruel as that is. I believe Charlie would never want that, and he has his own plan of finding his biological father as well. I thought he would leave for sure, but I never expected officer Phil to offer Charlie a home.
What will the consequences be for Phil I wonder. He's been a pretty intersting character with his best scene being the conversation with Bert. I never expected that conversation to have such an effect in him, and I hope all gaoes well.
8.5/10, Grace is just wonderful
10. The Holy Grail of Eris. Ep.11
SUMMARY
Constance's dad pissed me off. I misjudged him however, what a guy! Willing to stand at his daughter's side despite the circumstances, he's just what she needed while locked away. At the moment it has been decided that she will be publicly executed, though we have some friends who won't stand by as this happens.
Scarlett is amongst these friends and she employs none other Dominic who is more than willing to bark and jump at command; me too, Dominic, me too. As for everyone else, we see a large effort to gather support in opposition of the execution.
Cecilia meeting with Constance leads us into a flashback of Cecilia's youth. She's taken from the orphanage at a young age to take the place of a lord's ill daughter. The lord kills everyone from the orphanage however, refusing to allow anyone to bear the knowledge of the death of his daughter. Cecelia is caught in this fire, and we get a crazy plot twist. The replacement was replaced! The Cecelia we see today lives only to take revenge on those who killed their sister with the help of the man Rufus.
With Constance's execution only a day away, she gets a surprise visit from Brenda. She learns of those that support her and their work and is inspired by it. Will we get a scene similar to that of Scarlett's execution? Find out next time! Keep your head up Constance!
8.3/10, one more to go
B: Good/Solid
11. There was a Cute Girl in the Hero's Party, so I Tried Confessing to Her. Ep.11
SUMMARY
Is it bad that I am more invested in Happiness and Raven than the main couple? I think the author used the different race theme much better with them and I looked foward to seeing how Raven would react.
Raven finding the strength to voice himself against the group of soldiers was great I loved how he used his writing at the end.
Now, Cecelia keeping the arranged marraige from Yoki, and her consitent refusal to allow herself to feel something for him ma also be a reason I lean more to our secondary couple. They understand how they feel and convey this, I like seeing that.
Onto a surprise battle, Raven attacks Yoki though it was a clear misunderstanding from the start. Of course, I'm glad that Raven has accepted Happiness in her true form. Her crying from fear of how he would react, perhaps even ending things between them is an understandable fear, but it only makes him accepting her much sweeter. WE EVEN GET THE LOVE CONFESSION. THAT'S IT, THEY'RE THE MAIN COUPLE NOW.
8.5/10, the ship that matters has sailed, OH MY DAYS THEM RUNNING WHILE HOLDING HANDS WAS JUST TOO MUCH FOR MY LITTLE HEART
12. Chained Soldier Season 2. Ep.11
SUMMARY
My firstr time writing on this anime in some time I beleieve. The last couple of episodes have been cool, but I still beleieve the Ecchi title is in quqestion,. What isn't in question is who is best girl! That's right, it's still Tenka!
Onto Kyouka and Yuuki vs GIRL. Yuuki is shwoing off a new form and putting upp a great fight. Heavenward looks great, but I was worried that it would oinly be a boost in stats. The forms wioth the other other girls all have unique abuitlies, and this one is no different as Yuuki is launcehd from inside Kyouka's sowrd to save the girls that have been absorbed.
Kuusetsu is weakened and attemptws a final haiol merry by trying to assimilate Kyouka. Bad move, Kyouka wastes no time in striking her down and we lose one hot goddess because of it. RIP, she will be missed. But not for long! Yuuki you lucky man! Kuusetsu has manifested herslf inside of Yuuki's mind, finding a new home here though she can no longer affect the world outside. I hope they get along, maybe even earn the title of Ecchi!
With all thigns said and done, the episode ends with Yuukli receiving a much needed reward. And, ladies and gentlemen, I'mhappy to say that Kuusetsu has earned us the title of Ecchi!!!!
8.3/10, thank you our dear goddess
C: It's ok/ Fine
These are shows I happen to pick up but struggle to finish. Still watchable, but not without a good break in between episodes.
D: Do Not Recommend
Shows I do not recommend you watch for various issues.
F: Bad
Anime with glaring issues that make them not only difficult to watch, but the watcher angry at times.
