Sentenced to Be a Hero

1. Sentenced to Be a Hero. Ep.9

Action Adventure Fantasy

SUMMARY

Chaos continues as Xylo's crew takes on every scoundrel in the vicinity it sees. The circling camera around Frenci and Kivia was awesome to see, I'm always amazed and dumbfounded by such animation.

Xylo's plan is straightforward for better or worse. More bandits cause little issue for the team, but the arrival of a faerie was a surprise; for me that is, Xylo isn't surprised by such things. No, it takes much more to tick him off, like the arrival of a certain goddess.

I must say, Xylo's crew shows no mercy in a fight. I thought they would be hesitant to strike humans, but there is death aplenty by their hands, whether it be by weapon or explosion.

Be that as it may, it's Teoritta and Xylo that wrap up the fight against the faerie. I liked her words afterwards, has she matured just a miniscule amount? Maybe not, but it is certain the relationship has grown.

Back to the mission at hand, Dotta captures the target through the chaos of a crowd. Sodrick's old employees are still at large however, Bojum has shown his nature and employs others to erase his connection with Sodrick all together.

The episode ends with the guild being bombed by a cannon and destroying any chance of getting more information. They wish to chase after Sodrick still, but the guy is taken out as he's shown that all he wished to protect has already been slain.

I must say, this was an incredibly strong episode. It just had a bit of everything, great animation, cool fights, characters shining, great music, Teoritta, a hint of a big secret, plot development, we were 13 minutes in and I couldn't believe there was still more to be given, fantastic episode.

9.7/10, Spriggan is here

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Season 2

2. Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Season 2. Ep.6

Adventure Drama Fantasy

SUMMARY

That start, that animation, that music, the unsettling desperation, the fight, good lord that was fantastic. We've seen many examples of it, but this story never lets up on showing us why Frieren absolutely hates demons.

Is it better to let one die filled with hope? Some may it is wrong to lie, but the cruelty of dying in nothing but despair seems far worse to me. As such, I believe that lying to the dying villager was a final act of kindness to allow him to die in peace.

After Frieren almost kills the two at the church, we get some examinations of those who were killed. I know Stark doesn't think highly of himself, but anyone stronger than him is a person of incredible skill. With the examinations done, it's safe to say the killer is still around and the hunt is on.

For now, the group eats some brick like bread while analyzing who their opponent will be. The conclusion is that they are facing an opponent wielding four blades, and the build up to the reveal of the demon is fantastic. Will Genau lose control here? Either way, the fight is sure to be stellar.

9.4/10, the music man, how good is Evan Call?

Hell's Paradise Season 2

Action Adventure Supernatural

SUMMARY

We have a good fight waiting for us, let's get to it. After watching this amazing opening that is!

Seeing Tetsunoske's backstory was a welcome surprise. He's always been strong and in the pursuit of growing even beyond what he is, we even see growth in the midst of a battle against a Tensen. With help from Fuchi, he's able to land a great slice that may give them the edge against their opponent, but her transformation is still at hand.

I never expected Tao fa and Ju Fa to combine. It's been alluded to plenty of times, the flashback we get of them only builds their relationship. Seeing Mei in this backstory was very nice as well, I wonder if we will get more of this version of her in the future. Mei has mentioned that the others changed, and we that see that here as Ju fa changing for Tao Fa broke my heart. Even if they are the enemy, the world they were tossed into forced them become something they opposed.

The combined monster created by Tao fa and Ju Fa is not one a duo can defeat, so we're joining into a group of four! Choubei took a slash at first, but got wombo combod for it; they may kill each other after the fact, but I look forward to seeing Choubei and Tetsunoske fight together.

9.3/10, Riding the monsters of the island like horses was pretty cool, now where is Gabimaru

To Your Eternity Season 3

4. To Your Eternity Season 3. Ep.17

Adventure Drama Supernatural

SUMMARY

Yea, Mizuha might be too far gone. Fushi made a grave mistake by allowing his body to be taken, I'm glad Tonari was able to catch of glimpse of the body in time. Hitting him with an explosive arrow doesn't finish the job unfortunately, and the water seems to have infected everyone with Nokkers.

The entire school looks like a horror scene at the moment with the children unconscious and flower monsters crawling about. Choosing to fight alongside Tonari is braver than I could ever be, though I wonder how they can take out the Nokkers taking up the old Fushi body.

Continuing the fight, Aiko makes a great save with an umbrella, I really thought it was over for Tonari there. Better yet, the other girls arrive and set Fushi on fire. This could work, but the school anti fire system works against them.

Back at the bunker, it's just one surprise after another. Just what was that castle? No wait! I know I said she was gone, but oh no Mizuha!

Really wish this episode was longer as it is one of my favorites, though I have some issues with it as well. Mizuha's struggle is still a draw, though the sudden change in her father, or his Nokker, was a little too sudden in my opinion. That is fine, my issue is with Fushi himself. He seems too weak. I would love to see him on the level of boy black, but even if he never reaches that level I still think he is far too weak for what he should be at this point.

9/10, heart rate was very high this episode

[Oshi No Ko] Season 3

5. [Oshi No Ko] Season 3. Ep.8

Drama

SUMMARY

I expected Ruby to be angry. Aqua is right, I doubt Ai would be all that bothered by her big secret coming out. It wasn't an easy choice for him to make, the guy continues to do everyhing he can to protect those he cares about.

The reveal brings the spotlight to Aqua and Ruby, giving more work to them and B Komachi as well. Kana is saved, but she is now set on retiring as an idol for good in the near future. Good for her. The interaction with Aqua was great and I hope they can interact a little more like this as her idol career comes to an end.

Onto much less uplifting things, Aqua meets with Ichigo to discuss torturing Ai's killer. Ichigo isn't the only one recruited to help, Gotanda has been part of Aqua's plan for years it seems. The guy has a connection with not only Aqua, but he was one the closest adults to the real Ai as well.

The movie scirpt made by Aqua and Gotanda is green lit and we get a quick peek at the staff for said movie. The big question is who will play Ai. An actor by the name Yura Katayose is the main choice at the moment. She's got fame, draw power, and talent, unfortunately, it is not meant to be.

9/10, yea, that guy has got to go

SUMMARY

What's Lucy up to? Find out after that killer opening, YOU MAKE ME WONDER! Little fun fact, this song was quite popular in Japan while I was there, the more you know.

I agree with the idea that the ALA waited for Charlie to grow before reappearing. Why they want Charlie is still a mystery, but there is is an even bigger topic at hand. A mother's intuition is powerful, though Charlie's may be even greater with how quick he was to realize something was off through text.

Back to the mystery of the ALA, Rivera is more than happy to monologue alter kidnapping Lucy. Here he reveals that his goal to accelerate human evolution. It's an insane idea that he is engrossed by and he believes that Charlie is the key to it all.

Charlie arrives alone to save Lucy and uses the forest to his advantage. Swinging from tree to tree, Charlie takes out each of the ALA members with ease until it's just him vs the main two we've seen all season.

Unfortunately, we don't get the final bout. Even worse, there's a secret about Lucy that could be what makes her different from other's in Charlie's eyes.

8.5/10, what's the secret?!

Action Supernatural

SUMMARY

Higuruma vs Yuji, if you can't afford an attorney one will be give to you! Or something like that.

Looks like Yuji has been up to some naughty activities and must clear his name to win. For the first trial, Yuji goes with a quick lie that pins him as guilty without a doubt. For this crime, Yuji is betean with a comically large gavel. Oh, he's also robbed of his control over cursed energy.

I like the absolute gassing of Higuruma we get from the narrator. The guy is genius that reached grade 1 in twelve days. As Yuji does everything in his power to remain alive against the power of a giant Gavel, he asks for a retrial and we're back to court!

Well, this trial short and simple. Yuji admits to guilt over the massacre in Shibuya without a moment of hesitation. It always breaks my heart to see him believe himself a mass murderer, but his admission ends with the death penalty as his sentence.

Higuruma is given the executioner sword to kill Yuji. Despite Yuji's admission of guilt, Higuruma refuses to kill him after learning about Sukuna through the evidence he received. This was a spectacular moment from him, declaring Yuji innocent despite the guys refusal to this fact. Even better yet, the final line, on the horror of killing another, was just as great.

9/10, Higuruma for goat status?
