S: Must Watch

Episodes I believe you must watch or are missing out on.

Dusk Beyond the End of the World

1. Dusk Beyond the End of the World. Ep.9

Romance Sci-Fi

SUMMARY

Oooooh, we get a glimpse of the past once more. We get a few insights with the look of Towasa creating the outside series, as well as a look into their designs though it is difficult to discern their features from the distance we see them. Also, was that who I think it was? Surely not...

Back to that cheating, no good, lying, piece of, ok I'm done. Vare's proposal misses the mark as we see Casta cry and abandon the bouquet afterwards. It's here where the similarity between Amoru and Casta is used as both have difficulty expressing something they keep inside. Casta finds the strength to do so and reveals that she can never forgive Vare, ending their relationship and splitting at the next stop. A heartbreaking end, but I support her decision and strength to make such a decision.

Arriving at Omiya, the truce between Yugure and Yoiyama ends and their fight begins. This was a great display of just how strong the outside series is. The girls have different fighting styles that can be just as destructive as the other but Yugure gets the victory by placing a trap that takes advantage of Yoiyami's rashness.

Yugure takes the victory but lowers her defense which allows Yaoyami to land a near fatal strike. Seconds away from Yugure being killed, Akira jumps in to save her in we get our biggest reveal yet; Akira is an android.

This reveal shatters my heart. It means that Akira may have died saving Towasa and in that heartbreak Towasa created an android of him. I can see why she may not want to be found, if she is alive that is.

I love that we get the connection between Amoru and Casta, but Yugure and Vare as well. Keeping such a secret is devastating and Akira shuts himself away in his own mind as he questions everything. Could this lead to Akira making the same decision as Casta? Not only was I looking forward to that, but we are going to get the reveal of all that happened in the past next episode, lord I cannot wait.

Now, I do mention Akira dying, but this may be another plot twist waiting for us next episode. I hate seeing previews but some times it is a must and credit to the team behind the anime for this. We see a man in the previews that is likely Akira. If that is the case, then this is not the story of her doing all she can to save Akira, but her attempting to right the wrongs of her beloved project.

Phenomenal stuff, this anime has been a great watch so far.

9.5/10, Yugure you no good, lying, cheating, piece of, ok I'm done.

SUMMARY

Bro launching dear at mach speed will be one of my all time favorite scenes.

Buckle in because we're back as the trash beast gets ready to take off for the sphere. Bro and Dear begin their fight against Bundus but are immediately interrupted by the trash beast's movement sending the entirety of it's body into chaos. Bundus attempted to restart the battle but they're interrupted by a car this time and we're tossed into a hilarious scene with Bro trying his best to steer a car with no functioning steering wheel. I loved every single second of this and it was a fantastic way to lead us into the next scene with none other than Enjin.

Love the lore drop around Enjin's name, he's such a great character that I believe there is a lot to learn about as well. With communications available for Enjin, the rest of the cleaners are able to pinpoint their location and are on their way to help; before they arrive, however, we return to Rudo in inside with Zodyl.

Zodyl offers Rudo the chance to achieve his goal far before the cleaners could. There was a chance, I believe, for Zodyl to convince Rudo until he spoke about eliminating waste. Rudo is someone who can see the value of everything, and he treasures that value more than anything. As such, it was fantastic to see Rudo choose his new team over his goal and let it evolve into something greater.

Zodyl won't let Rudo choose whiteout a fight, continuing to batter Rudo with words to plant doubt and ignite his hatred. Rudo is too hard headed however, and, much to our luck, he has a great team behind him.

9.5/10, please tell me Guita is ok.

SUMMARY

We start off with Mizuha having the common lovesickness issues until we return to current day. She gathers the courage to ask Fushi on a date but Fushi is too occupied with the Nokkers and their continued threat to understand what he has agreed to before leaving. This leads to another confrontation with the black one but the little guy still has no plans to to help.

All is not lost however, Bon arranges another meeting with boy black at the restaurant and it is here where Izumi gives them an instant kill method by attacking the brain stem. Even with the method, Fushi hesitates as he can feel their pain unlike before. The stress gets to Fushi and he pushes boy black in a fit of rage, an interesting scene as I believe Fushi is beginning to cave under the pressure he is in.

Onto the date between Mizuha and Fushi, we go shopping for some clothes for Fushi. The date is interrupted by Sumika on the prowl for Fushi after he hurt boy black. Mizuha challenges Sumika but makes a good escape instead of taking on the challenge against a much larger opponent.

It's intersting to see Fushi's disdain for boy black. He's a very caring person as we see with him fulfilling the dreams of those who he has met in the past, yet there is no ounce of care for boy black. Even more so, he doesn't care that he hurt him either. I think he is being unfair and rash when it comes to boy black, but I am glad he isn't a perfect person.

Now, is Tonari right? I can understand where she is coming from, and why she is so against Mizuha in general, but Fushi would never defile the memories and dreams of his past friends as she said he did. However! I can see it as inappropriate as Fushi fails to consider the bad blood that exist between Tonari and Mizuha's ancestors, a struggle that he continues to have with understanding the emotions of others.

It's well done, 9.5/10. I think, hear me out, Tonari is end game

side note, Hirotoshi is something else

SUMMARY

New character alert! Ukyo is here!

Turns out Ukyo is a long lost friend in ranma's eyes, though it seems the hits to the head may have gotten to the guy as he misremembers a lot from the past. Baldy not taking Ukyo after promising was messed up but I can see why Ukyo is so mad about being seen as, that's right, a man.

I can't be the only one who immediately saw a girl, right? Maybe I watch too much anime, Ukyo's design is just on the cusp, so I don't blame Ranma for not noticing all this time. Although he failed to notice all this time, even he can't deny what he felt but asking since when was too fumy. Even better, he tries to turn her back with hot water.

Breaking news! Ukyo is Ranma's Fiancé. I must say, Bakdy really messed up here. Even I side with the girls on this matter, though Ranma is also a victim in the matter. While Baldy refuses to accept his mistakes, Ranma is more than willing to own up to his mistakes and lets Ukyo grill him until the fights stops by his silver tongue.

8.8/0, little Ranma is adorable

SUMMARY

Henri showing up for his students shows what a stand up guy he really is. Unfortunately, the kids are getting cooked inside the bus as he speaks with the others at the scene but his presence ends up being a great thing in the end. Not only that, but he switches places with the other staff, this guy rocks.

The reveal of Bily's daughter dying at the hands of the government breaks my heart, his radicalization was bound to happen after seeing her body. Yet, even now, he cannot bring himself to go as far as hurting children. Something that a certain faction of the government seems more than willing to do.

Anya vs Billy was great. She was pulling out all the stops to make sense without revealing too much and managed to have Billy remember something about his daughter that isn't just the pain of loss. I think it is beautiful that he remembered his daughter and what she fought for; despite being part of the red circus herself, they lost their way and Billy allowed himself to remember that before dropping one of the best lines of the series, "I can't let my daughter die a second time." Magnificent.

Anya does end up getting kidnapped once more in a desperate attempt to live by another of the Red Circus, but Martha of Becky's family must have some similar training to Yor so no disaster today.

8.7/10, Billy was pretty cool

SUMMARY

Hey it's Hitomi.

You'd think there would be more outrage about students disappearing. Hitomi brings Tomoro to school to investigate the case of the top achievers going missing, but the two end up captured themselves. Geckomon does his best to put up a fight here even when outmatched by a giant wrecking ball.

The team arrives just in time to help and reveal the criminal: mimicmon! It's not just Mimicmonm however, we learn of the owner who beleives he could be at the top of the school were he able to get rid of everyone else above him score wise, couldn't we all?

I like that this has always been a consistent theme in Digimon. In every series, Digimon tend to appear and act based on the emotions of their owners. This could be used for great narratives and what we got in this episode is somewhat close, but I think we're still holding back the level of storytelling this is used for.

So far, we've been going with the bad of the guy of the week plan for the episodes - which also happens to be a commonality in Digimon - but I hope we get the start of a big arc soon.

Back to the fight against Mimicmon, Tomoro blows it up from the inside by using his strange e-Pulse. His return is enough to recharge Geckomon and nab Kuramon, though only for a moment before it is collected by the ministry in person. The team is unable to do anything against this given that they're secret efforts to keep digimon in the sanctuary is illegal.

As i hoped, this could be the start of the arc. A battle against the ministry would be great, we could even learn of some dirty secrets. There is a lot of possibility, I just hope they stick the landing.

8.2/10, this could be the start

Semes Alcohol is a universal anywhere you go, it may be the only thing saving Mukoda from being hit with a barrage of smites as well. After making up for his missed offerings, it's back to cooking a giant, turkey? Seems right for the time, though I wonder if thanksgiving is celebrated around the world as it is in the states.

As the gods have learned of Mukoda's tenants, they think up a scheme to force Mukoda to level up faster despite his hesitation to do so. Before any leveling, Mukoda is making use of his new grill made by his new smith friend, Ales. It's a nice scene but man they animated the mess out of the meat cutting scene, one punch man has no excuses left!

The making of the grill ends with a nice grilling party where Mukoda shows his gratefulness by making a high ball for Ales. Ales is in love with the drink but this leads to revealing the soaring popularity of Mukoda. He has yet to understand how big of a deal it is to clear the local dungeon, and the ending scenes seem to have him worried.

SUMMARY

Yeea, Tachibana played herself. Snatched defeat from the jaws of victory in my opinion.

In the words of the great J. Cole, everyone's got their thing. I'm glad her friends are doing what they can to help her feel better, but we soon go back to Umezawa who we haven't seen in quite some time. She's being chased by her sister who is trying to convince her to go back home and Watari ends up stuck in between. He decides to help, though this means he could miss his only chance to meet with Satsuki.

As Watari is free until 5, we get a date between him and Umezawa. Watari dodges the ferris wheel trap and gets some drinks instead. As he wonders about Umezawa's feelings for him, Watari is able to get her to talk about why she stopped going to track practice. Her reasoning is understandable, but she's soon on the prowl once more and shoots her shot.

Well, after Watari catches Umezawa who runs away from rejection, we get the conclusion to their relationship? I can't be the only incredibly dissatisfied by this? My guess is that we're getting a full adaptation and we may have skipped a lot from the source material. Still, it doesn't make it any less satisfying.

Despite this, the date between Satsuki and Watari did give me a redeeming moment before once again slapping me to reality. Satsuki seemed so happy about Watari showing up, but did reject the kiss. I wouldn't think much into it, there was a camera after all. I just hope they don't go into rent a girlfriend levels of waiting for what is left.

7/10, justice for umezawa?

Miyuki time baby.

Koyo is brought along to help the girls remains healthy as they are pushed hard by Miyuki in their training. He's soon taking care of a bunch of the girls and using his magic to help. The guy is hit with a barrage of girls needing his help all at once and he doesn't stray away from helping, but even Koyo is exhausted by so much work.

In all this, we don't get to see Miyuki until the hot springs scene, a classic setup. Miyuki may be my favorite girl of the main crew as she is understanding once Moeko speaks to her instead of blaming everyone else. Koyo is also great here, explaining where the issues could be stemming from and offering some great advice plus his services.

I really do like Miyuki's personality, charismatic and kind, willing to learn and improve. Of the bunch she's the least insane as well. Although, that could add or subtract points depending on preference. My preference? Insanity, moving on.

7.5/10, Miyuki end game please.

SUMMARY

We do understand that he can have sex with them, and have feelings for them, without becoming a reckless, abusive loser, right? Right?!

As the other ring girls hold off the abyssal army, Satou travels into Krystal's domain in hopes of bringing her back. We travel through some of the past memories between these two but Satou is able to remain strong throughout it all until his fight against Krystal begins.

We get a cool scene of Krystal asking why Satou he has rejected the pervious versions of herself, but this leads to Satou being captured and taken away to... the naked zone?!

As many gripes as I have with this anime, this arc has revealed vulnerability within Krystal's that is well addressed. Yes, I said it, it's being well done. Not only does she fear the dangers that could kill the one she loves, but she fears no longer being the number in his heart. Such fear has developed and, as we have seen over time, blossomed into a dangerous insecurity which she addresses by following her greatest desire at the cost of everything else. I like the addressing of insecurity and uncertainty, and how it can develop into something harmful when not addressed. Of course, Satou shares fault in this as his hesitation is a big factor in Krystal falling as she has.

So, what's the answer to save Krystal? That's right, Satou smash.

Is getting crushed under the legs of a pretty girl punishment or reward? The polls are up and my vote in.

Oh my days the rhino scene was atrocious. Ehhh, time for our weekly dose of 20 minute long jpegs. It saddens me that this is the treatment the heroes get as we have some unique and fun looking designs that will never be given the justice they deserve. Even atomic get's some disappointing effort which leaves us with no hope for everyone else.

It's time to comment on the the color change technique they keep using at random. That is not a replacement for even acceptable animation, it's also not a clever way to add anything to a scene. For goodness sake they didn't even add piggy falling down the hole, they just show him on the ground!

3/10! Just end it already!
