Gachiakuta

1. Gachiakuta. Ep.18

Action Fantasy

SUMMARY

Enjin telling Fu no was funny, but we're sent away to Riyo before we can see if the two will fight.

Riyo figures out that Noerde's power has a time limit and uses it to her advantage. Her attack is met with a fierce counter attack, this leads to Riyo showing her own hand to hand combat skills. The two go on an dragon ball z like exchange that was amazing to watch, perhaps the best fight of the anime so far an making me feel even worse about one punch man this season.

The fight continues on with both unwilling to give an inch. Riyo suffered some internal damage as we see her spit blood, I wondered if she was going to pull out some hidden technique to steal the victory. Instead, RIYO PULLS OUT A GUN!

The reveal of the gun brings out the question of why we haven't seen them more in the anime. Before that however, we get some interesting insight about Riyo. She made a promise to Enjin never to kill again and she used to be a former assassin but Enjin somehow has her on a leash. If she were willing to stain her scissors with blood then we could have a way more powerful killer on the team, but that is not to be for the time being.

Back to the present, Riyo unloads her gun on Jabber. This lets her save Zanka but we return to Rudo right after. Portal girl takes Rudo to the big egg where he gets a verbal beat down and short presentation of Amo's boots being offered but nothing more than speculation of what is to come next episode.

9/3.10, SHE'S GOT A GUN!

To Your Eternity Season 3

2. To Your Eternity Season 3. Ep.6

Adventure Drama Supernatural

SUMMARY

They're not immortal? I guess I misunderstood their lifespan for some time, but I can understand Fushi's dilemma with trying to accept their mortality. His goal to prove that the world is peaceful is sweet, but man am I worried about Mizuha's involvement and the dangers she could bring. Well, it could make for exciting discourse, but my heart is already weak from the first two seasons.

Tonari doesn't hold back, I love that about her. Her history with Hayase is just too much to make accepting Mizuha easy, it may never happen. Of course, the idea that you have no control what you are born as is dropped, and we may see a change of heart in the future.

For now, we move onto Bon who has found another body taken over. This time, it's a young girl who Fushi approaches without fear. I never thought Fushi would go the nuclear option but it makes sense given the danger of the Nokker in the past. Fushi fails to do it, which in other case would show his humanity and be seen as the right choice. Instead, the young girl takes the blade herself and we're tossed into a fight with her older relative that leads us to a chase and a another jaw dropping scene.

What just happened? Who was that person? Well, our questions don't last long, that's the black one! As a human child no less! The Black one explains that he is no longer part of the land and will become a regular being in four years. the biggest drop is the reveal of the Nokkers new form however, and that they are back in big numbers.

Continuing on with the new form of the Nokkers, they have chosen coexistence. Given their new ability and desire, the black one delcares defeat as he believes there is nothing they need to do.

It's incredibly interesting to see the black one like this. The entire series he has been seen as the one higher than everything, and yet he's more than willing to give in and concede. Furthermore, he's willing to say that he doesn't know much about the Nokkers as they are now, and express his lack of ability to combat them.

With that said, Fushi and the black one are similar beings, creatures able to connect to the land and much more. But where they differ now is that Fushi has grown alongside the people of the past and fought against the Nokkers with them. His growth over time has created a love and passion for those around and the world, and it is why he is so unwilling to just give in as the black one, who hasn't gone through all Fushi has, does.

Fushi will continue his fight against the Nokkers for now, but man that scene was something else. You know the one I'm talking about. Figuring out how to combat the Nokkers may be the focus of this season, but there is another danger in this era; the Hayase bloodline may prevail.

9.3/10, I'm still shocked by that scene

Ranma 1/2 Season 2

3. Ranma 1/2 Season 2. Ep.6

Action Comedy Romance Ecchi

SUMMARY

We got demons in Ranma 1/2 before GTA 6. I'll show myself out.

We have the arrival of a new character today, none other than master Happosai who trained Tendo and Saotome until they locked him in a cave. The old guy is still strong enough to take care of his pupils with ease, he even gives Ranma a lesson.

Why are the old people so strong in this anime?

After giving out lessons, Happosai makes an attempt to kidnap Akane but gets ganged up for it. A true warrior is capable of n ldeception as well, so he ends up winning the battle by the end of it. Victory is short lived however, sleeping next to Akane is a fate worse than death.

After Happosai is freed from Akane's torture, Ranma loses in a battle of spiritual pressure the next morning which ends with him homeless. Much like Urusei Yatsura, the best parts of this anime are the cute moments we get between our main couple to be. There is a sweetness to the moments we get that many romance anime fail to convey.

That's not the focus here however, Happosai's addiction addiction to woman is as serious as it gets. The inability to even get near them leaves him with withdrawal symptoms that almost kills him. Ranma's plan, and kindness, backfires for him. Never trust an old gooner, or girl Ranma with a chesftful of lewd pictures, or Akane with a kettle.

This episode was a great mix of comedy and action, there were so many jokes that just hit right while we also got some awesome actions scenes like Saotome summoning his fighting spirit. I hope we get some more remakes as they've been some of my favorite anime in recent years.

9/10, Tendo in his armor was awesome to see.

Dusk Beyond the End of the World

4. Dusk Beyond the End of the World. Ep.7

Romance Sci-Fi

SUMMARY

Ooooh, we get to see more of the outside series again with a reappearance of the two from earlier in the season.

Because of the appearance of the other two outside series, we get an episode with Amoru and Akira getting a lot of alone time. I'm glad we got the alone time, Amoru is very likable character and she gets to shine much of this episode. Her trying on new outfits and using her cuteness to bargain was great, but nothing beats eating.

Another thing I like about Amoru is her communication. She was open and upfront about how she about the date and how she feels about Yugure and Akira. Even if she is open about it, it is difficult to continue the conversation with Akira who hesitates to respond at all since he is unsure of what he will do.

Moving forward, Amoru and Akira break into the local library in search of forbidden books. They get a lucky break here and there which ends with them inside the vault with the treasure they are in search of. Inside the vault is an entire library of its own for the two to explore until a guard walks in. Amoru takes it upon herself to lead the fight here until Akira steps in to end the fight with a classic choke.

Yokurata was too busy having with the librarian who gets an alert to the intruders in her domain. She returns to the vault - with a whip in hand - as Akira finds the holy grave. A quick scuffle leads to the books being set on fire and Akira having to make a difficult decision. I believe he will choose Amoru's book given how kind he is, but I would be surprised if he doesn't as he's been more than willing to sacrifice himself for others this entire series.

8.5/10, Oboro is suspicious, I just can't prove it

SUMMARY

We're back baby, on today's episode PANDAMON HAS A GUN!

The team shows up to help Tomorou against TommyGunmon but not before Pandamon is left in bad state.

They plan is to go after switchEmDownmon who has a large bounty alongside his partner in crime. Before they do we see a great scene from Sasatake confronting Yuukari himself. He's willing to give his own life for his people, but his honest efforts won't receive anything against people with no honor.

Afterward, Tomorou finds out about Sasatake's actions and has a great line about not carrying the world alone. His own experiences have built such an understanding an I am glad he has kept these lessons in his heart. Sasatake's failed confrontation leaves Tomoru with no choice but to go after Yuukari himself, Pandamon also joins but at a great cost.

The fight agasint Strapmon isn't easy even for the team alongside Pandamon and they're sent to the mirror world to contiune the fight. We have the most difficult fight for the team to date as their outmatched by level here. Pandamon is able to pull victory out here with a great deceptive tactic though it almost costs him his life were it not for Geckomon.

Man, as nice as that scene was, I couldn't help but laugh at those two goobers just sitting there after the big explosion. The laughs soon became tears after that scene between Pandamon and Sasatake however, that's what it means to be a real father.

8/10, family

Alma-chan Wants to Be a Family!

6. Alma-chan Wants to Be a Family!. Ep.6

Comedy Romance Sci-Fi

SUMMARY

Somehow, someway, Alma got cuter. GOD PLEASE, PROTECT HER AT ALL COST!

Alma-S might be the cutest thing I've ever seen in anime. Inside the newly revealed bat cave, we learn that Alma has more bodies in store that were scrapped for reasons like power efficiency. Machina fights with Alma for time on the taller body, I say we get mecha suits next!

I don't think we get enough scenes of Alma's actual killer bot capabilities. A new character introduced today, Neon, seems to understand her ability, or at least her cuteness, desuwa. Neon does have a company that deals with weapons, she even blesses us with what I was hoping for: Alma putting belt to ass with her gundam bits. While I enjoyed the fight, mom and dad almost had a heart attack because of it.

in the future I am sure we will have robots capable of giving some care, none as adorable as Alma of course. I like how we explored Alma while Suzume was sick. Her approach to helping is very analytical and robotic, eventually she seeks advice from friends she can contact which displays two halves of Alma this episode. On one end, she has her controlled approach developed through hard data, while her asking for advice shows her A'I developing to the human nature of seeking help, and of her care for someone she considers her important for her.

8/10, just say you love her Enji.

Action Comedy

SUMMARY

To start off the episode we see Anya in full throttle mode in hopes of winning against Yor's sudden development.

We only see a short snippet of this as the focus switches to Loid and his ever growing popularity. Tall, handsome, talented, and able to be anyone he would like, it's easy to be jealous of the guy. Because of his popularity, he's made some enemies at his job who do their best to ruin Loid's reputation. Loid plays along and yet everything just gets getting better for him. It was all fun and games until the doc went with the nuclear red scare option.

I should have known that Loid was too far ahead to be caught this easily. Turning the tide on Gorey was easy, but I have to give props to Franky this episode. Not only did his lies hit the mark, he's an impressive actor as well. I'm still waiting to learn more of he came to work with Loid after the war, but that will hopefully come with time.

I thought the anime was back to fun and cute episodes; I was somewhat wrong. I'm sure we'll get a lot of Anya's cute antics, but we have a kidnapping adventure to go on! Billy Squire and his team the Red Circus are behind the plot as they start off with taking over Anya's school bus. We'll learn more of what he plans next episode, but my money is on he is after Damien.

8/10, more war time stories

Adventure Comedy Fantasy Gourmet

SUMMARY

Competing the dungeon comes with a lot of paperwork it seems. Information is vital so I'm glad that there is such an interest in getting as much from Mukoda as they can.

Mukoda gets a pass today however, instead he ends up on a quest to save two kids deep in the forest. Calling Fel a doggy might get Mukoda in trouble someday, but it helped calm the kids and get information out of them. Here we learn that not everyone makes it out of the dungeon and of the strife the kids are facing. Good kids those two, but seeing how much smaller they are than Mukoda got a good laugh out of me.

After a fat meal, Sui comes to the rescue once more. It must be hard to be the best character in an anime, but Sui does it with ease. He creates an elixir that can cure any ailment that good guy Mukoda trades for an orc.

Good on them both for helping the kids, but Mukoda gets a surprise soon after; A level up to his online grocery. The level up comes with a new set of sweets that all look incredible and are sweet enough to almost send Sui to the moon.

An episode that made me really like Mukoda, but the guy may be in trouble with the gods soon.

SUMMARY

I'm still a little confused on Tokui's position in the sttory. He does support Satsuki, but he is being upfront with Watari now. He does apologize, and even let Watari see the final message from Satsuki so maybe he's back to the light side.

Even after three months, Ishihara is still hung up on Watari. I don't see this as a bad thing, she fell hard for the guy and the way things ended make it difficult for her to move on. She keeps digging herself into a deeper hole while hiding what she feels, it'd be best if she just let it all out and take victory while her rival is out of town.

We're on a trip to Okinawa! Ishihara and Watari sit together and realize how little they know about each other. Soon after this, we are hit with the reveal that Satsuki is in town baby!

I'm not sure what's scarier, Tokui's deduction skills or Satsuki's strength. Either way, Satsuki is dead set on avoiding Watari. Ishihara is also worried about this, understanding that her only real competition will make it impossible for her moving forward. They do their best to avoid Satsuki, but keep running into her because of Tokui's meddling.

I'm very surprised that Ishihara told Watari about Satsuki being there, but man was the running scene funny. I'm sorry, this show is cute in that it does what it can with it's budget, but that running scene almost threw me off my chair. Enough of that however, the episode ends with Watari on the search for Satsuki as she heads away from the aquarium. I'm sure they'll run into each other next episode, and that will give us the clue as to who the victor will be!

A toast to Izumi's win!

Koyo shows off his culinary skills to the girls but some are too busy fighting with each other to enjoy the food. Izumi explains that Koyo helped her win, and even shows her gratitude to him. That's why she is best girl, but it may be best if they don't explain the kind of massage he was giving out.

Aoba makes a move on Koyo during the celebration which results in some angry looks but that is not the focus here. Chiyo is the next focus!

Chiyo is the degenerate of the group which may give her a chance in the battle for best girl. Koyo offers her a massage to help win the game and get her to sleep and the armpit lovers rejoice because of it.

Chiyo is able to see that Aoba and Izumi have a thing for Koyo. I don't think Koyo is leading them on, but it would be best if he came forward to say he has no intentions with them.

We don't spend much time here however, onto the massage! Chiyo takes it well first half but taps out when Koyo gets serious. I can't say if any of the information Koyo was giving out was accurate but I am impressed if is, so good for the creators here.

Tales of Wedding Rings Season 2

11. Tales of Wedding Rings Season 2. Ep.6

Action Fantasy Romance Ecchi

SUMMARY

We get some magic training for Krystal and co this episode. I'm not sure how to feel about character development in my Ecchi. In all seriousness, it's difficult to take enjoy the training arc when we are still mentioning the power of emotions which we refuse to use.

We get some sweet moments this episode. The time between Krystal and Morrian was nice, we even get to see their mother before she was lost. Speaking of mother's, we get to meet Granart's mother! There is some sweetness here to with Granart admitting she would have liked to spend more time with her mother before they were separated.

All the girls make progress after about a week with Krystal getting some help from a suspicious character who may or not be her mother's spirit. She has a good moment of using light magic before we return to Satou in search of weapons. We get a tour of the factory which is impressive but what mattered most was the encouragement he received inside.

I've always enjoyed episodes like this in another anime, ones that are focused on building characters. This would have worked were it not for the frustrating lead up to the separation itself. If, in the cave, the group had some real progress then I wouldn't mind this at all, I would praise it even as they would be separated after taking a big step and accepting the fact that they cannot be complacent despite breaking the boundary to allow emotions to flourish.

SUMMARY

Overgrown Pochi is one of the few to give Garou the chills so we know it's dangerous. Does it matter however? I mean the fight against the three monsters right after was just abysmal.

Garou does what he can against Pochi but is outmatched at the moment. He takes a plasma cannon face first but manages to survive even after an onslaught right after. It's here I'd like to say that Garou has some unbelievable grit. This arc made him one of my favorite characters in the manga, and it breaks my heart to see the injustice done to him.

After the fight with Pochi, Garou meets with Gyoro where they discuss training before the start of a scuffle with Orochi. He's outmatched again but the guy is just cool to stop unless he is dead.

The fight with Orochi wasn't terrible, not good, but not terrible. I did like the black and white scene, they should have made it longer.
